Hi guys, new to these forums and just wanting some help with getting rid of the text on my Sony PVM 2130 i picked up a few weeks ago. As the image shows, really annoying text across the monitor and cant find anything online about removing it and have a pdf of the manual which doesnt mention anything about it either
does anyone have experience with these older Sony PVM`s that can help?
Thanks

Now I'm not at home, I can check my unit and I'll let you know.

My 2530, the bigger screen version of your PVM, lacked any OSD capability. So unless that was an exclusive feature of the smaller model I think perhaps that text is part of the video signal.

Well no luck here, I'm afraid. Couldn't reproduce that feature in my unit, as kamiboy says no OSD at all.
Could you tell us more about this test? What does it say, does it change or is it fixed, is it visible through every input or not, the works.

something starting with E sounds like it might be an error code. i know thats the case on many other devices.
perhaps its trying to tell you something. a service manual would let you know.

I have a 2950Q - I can't tell if that's just the standard menu or the service menu.
To access the service menu, with the monitor powered off, press display, 5, vol up, power from the remote, in fairly quick sequence.
Maybe there's a service menu setting that keeps this on indefinitely...

yeah hooked a snes, and hooked a dvd player and both work fine without any on screen writing
it is obviously my vhs camera, i just need to find a manual for it and work out what these white/light signals mean
