Violent Soldier [PCE]

Not to be confused with the Star Soldier series, this is actually a stand-alone title that has nothing to do with the aforementioned games at all. People like to call this a Rezon rip-off, but it looks like both games were published at around the same time, so I doubt this is even true. I've heard that the US version Sinistron differs significantly from the Japanese original, as such I'm going to split the tables.

I highly recommend checking this game out, the first stages are fairly uneventful (some might even call them boring), the last third is filled to the brim with action, however. It lives up to its name, indeed.

Sad to find out that there's an exploit in this game: it's possible to commit suicide right after killing the final boss which in turn allows for infinite checkpoint milking (he and the two bosses before him will give enough points for an extra life). It's anything but trivial to repeat this process flawlessly, it is certainly doable after a bit of practice, though. Oh well, I still love this game all the same!
