People who play for score are playing for their own enjoyment, yes. But that doesn't mean everyone should play for score, because some people don't find the scoring mechanics fun. Inversely not everybody should play strictly for survival, because not everyone finds simple survival fun.

People who play for survival are playing for fun. People who play for score are playing for fun. But survival and scoring are too different things. Skykid was just saying to each their own. I don't know what you take issue with.

I never said it was difficult, I said it wasn't necessary.
You say you applaud people playing for score, but advocate people playing to their own personal level of satisfaction.

But they are the same thing, people playing for score just get more enjoyment out of the experience, so they end up spending more time with the games.
...And? I never said anything contrary to this.
This "pressure to be a superplayer" is a concept you pretty much invented out of the blue.
It's not a concept at all, it's directly related to recurring discussion on the forum where top players openly lament the lack of conviction from others to achieve similar status. While I appreciate their reasoning, I still advocate people not feeling pressure to achieve more than they're comfortable with.

This is so simple a comment I'm amazed I've had to reframe it for you several times over.

I recently noted in another thread how I had no idea sometimes how I ended up having to cyclically repeat the same points. I'll add this one to the pile.

I never felt pressured at all to achieve more then I was comfortable on this forum, and have always found the score chasing people of the forum to be a friendly and helpful bunch (especially IRL)

The complaint I actually remember hearing a few times is not so much that people are unmotivated to reach higher scores, but more like unaware of what can be achieved with some intelligently directed practice, which is ground for more interesting discussion.

I wholeheartedly agree with you that lamenting people "lack of conviction" is just pretty much a bad idea all around. But this is not an actual issue with this community, no matter how many times you repeat it.
