I'll be there, commenting YOM's run on Akai Katana and Erppo's run on Daifukkatsu Black Label strong.

In French, of course

Guilty as charged. It was just too hype.

Can't believe I'm gonna be there :D

We may or may not be trying to set up English STG coverage from the event... :3

The event will for sure be streamed in French. Aquas and I are trying to put together an English broadcast as well. No guarantees yet but we're making progress.

Hi all!

Stunfest is running again on May 22-24!
So this time we could not realize an opportunity to bring over Japanese guests, but instead we invited players from elsewhere. Aquas, Erppo, Jaimers, Ratikal, BOS and Y'om will be playing Batrider, DFK BL Strong, Dangun Feveron, Eschatos, Dragon Blaze and Akai Katana there, with one try on the main stage and another try on a smaller stage over the three days. There will also be a bunch more shmups going on such as Crimzon Clover by Neptas and Ikaruga by Keilie. And of course many more things such as speedruns or fighting game tourneys all streamed on this page : http://www.stunfest.fr/stream/

FYI Aquas & Ratikal are coming from the US! Erppo from Finland! Jaimers from Holland! And Y'om and BOS are from France as well as Neptas and Keilie I think.
Reposting in proper topic ;)

Here is the program for the shmup things including 2nd stage:
(French time, GMT+2 right now due to summer daylight saving thing I think)

Main Stage
Friday 11h30-12h30 : Akai Katana (Y'om!) , 16h-16h30 : Dangun Feveron (Jaimers!)
Saturday 14h-16h : Dragon Blaze (BOS!) + Armed Police Batrider (Aquas!)
Sunday 11h30-12h30 : Eschatos (Ratikal!), 15h-16h : DDP DFK BL strong (Erppo!)

Second Stage (room on 2nd floor, shmup freeplay cabs will be in this room, written as Shmup/Wasshoi on stream page)
Friday 20h-21h30 : Batrider + Eschatos
Saturday 16h-17h : DFK BL ; 22h30-23h : Dangun
Sunday 13h-14h : Dragon Blaze

+ here you can find programmation of speedruns http://www.stunfest.fr/programmation/superplay/
here is nice page of presentation for shmups guests :) http://www.stunfest.fr/programmation/wasshoi-europe/

Hope you guys watch and wish everyone good luck ;) Let's see what happens!!

Hi,

if at all possible could the organisers please arrange to have the event so that it does not clash with Pfingsten/Whit please? I have to attend Wave Gotik Treffen http://www.wave-gotik-treffen.de/ which is tied to Pfingsten and I would otherwise have made my way to Stunfest. Last time as I recall it clashed with Replay in the UK. All it takes is a little liaising to ensure that there are fewer clashes.

Cheers,

Minty.

I am sure that the organizers at Stunfest will gladly delay the event to accommodate your busy schedule.

Given two clashes in as many years. If we are willing to attend then that only serves to add to their numbers and I was not asking for a 'delay' I was more over asking for them to appreciate that the Whit/Pfingsten is a time whereby many events take place here in Europe but I doubt you would understand that and your comment was more flippant.

Pardon my ignorance MintyTheCat but what's the connection between your event and Stunfest ? Is it video game related too ?

Replay is an event that has been going since 2010, I have attended all of them but not this year's. It has become less Shmup oriented you see.
Last year it took place on the same weekend as Stunfest unless I am mistaken.

http://www.playblackpool.com/

Replay started out as a Retro bash but over time has become more of a current gen event. I saw fewer and fewer cabs over time. Last time there were many older cabs with a few Shmups but only I think two Candy Cabs with only a single Shmup - raiden Fighters - I have footage of me looping it in fact :)
I also won the RECCA competition :)

Replay is no longer worth me attending for only two Candy Cabs and a single PCB worth a modernish Shmup.

This year it takes place the same weekend as WGT. WGT is a Goth bash.

As such, I have been unable to attend either year due to the clashes though I most certainly would like to go there just for all the cabs.

Is it true that Stunfest will not be supporting many Shmup events next year? I would only attend for the Shmups and given that I had no clashes with WGT.

Cheers,

Minty.

As far as I know, this year there is something like 10 cabs all for Shmups, run are being played on the main stage as well as smaller area too.
Dunno about next years.

That's not a bad number. I actually played ibara for the first time at a Gaming Event and instantly fell in love with it.
I would love to have a Candy cab but I'd most likely electrocute myself with the CRT so I stick to Superguns :)

Let's hope Shmups remain a key interest.

You blokes have a good time :)

Minty.

STG Weekly's stream computer currently has 45/45 MB/s.

So I think it is safe to assume that a stream is doable.

Everyone's arrived safely, though not without mishaps: there was some trouble on the train that CHI and I were on at Montparnasse that required armed guards, and as a result we were delayed by 15mins. One or two of the other guys had train delays etc, but otherwise we all got there by about 5.30pm, met up with everyone for a beer and a chat, and while the guests had to do stuff at the venue afterwards, the rest of us chilled at a bar.

At about 8pm, we met up at a local restaurant, a huge group of us that included the guests (Aquas, Ratikal, Erppo, Jaimers), the visitors (myself, Softdrink, DEL, CHI, Plasmo, ptoing, T4N3), and the organisers (Prometheus, HUmar, Yom), and had good food and a good time.

The event begins in earnest tomorrow. Hype.

Also, giant enemy crab!

All the more reason for those guys privileged to attend/participate to document as much as they can, when they can with Sefie photos, photos, videos, of the build up and post event. Not an easy thing to do when everyone in attendance is too busy enjoying every moment for themselves than trying to capture key segments of it so we less privileged folk can at least get a sense of the atmosphere of what was happening when we feast ours eyes into a photo or video. Makes a decent reference for Stunfest 2016 to be bigger event for promo purposes in terms of the coin-up scene.
