At first I thought it was my controller board, until I tested with numerous known good controllers. The controller with the unresponsive R button was set to the side of my ever growing pile of projects.
Recently I've attained 2 more oem SNES controllers, both with the R buttons unresponsive... Now this is forcing my hand. Anyone know of a quick fix? Where is this problem coming from - or are these controllers just hosed? HELP!?

Tried cleaning the contact points under the button?

Of course. I'm wondering if the wiring of the R button is different than the other buttons? Its not like these controllers can just all happen to have the same traces shot.

Also consider cleaning the plug. Sometimes a dirty plug/port can cause specific buttons not to work.
