Ever wondered how brand new copies of Rez, Disgaea: Hour of Darkness, Gitaroo Man, Persona 2 and Resident Evil 3 for Gamecube just popped up out of nowhere?
I think it's cool but what good does it do if they sell to companies like Gamestop that open the games, jack up the prices and sell them as collector's items. Isn't that sort of defeating their entire purpose of reprinting them so people don't have to pay outrageous prices?
Well, that article explains everything. Good to hear GQD is directly responsible for the reprints. Anyway, there is a difference between the originals and reprints: none of the reprints contain the factory sticker underneath the seal. Truly fanatical collectors can still enjoy knowing they have sealed originals, lesser collectors can have a fit over making the wrong investment, original buyers won't care, and new buyers will be happy to be able to play legit and affordable versions of great games.

Yeah, this just gives me another reason for not shopping at Gamestop.
And I really hope that they extend these reprints to 8-bit & 16-bit games. I think NES reprints would really take off, especially since you can find a brand new NES clone for around $30 today.
Yeah, I was in EB the other week and i picked up a copy of Rhapsody($30) and saw two copies of Persona 2. It was a total WTF? moment!! I promptly checked ebay and saw pages full of Rhapsody around $30.
The only explantion I could think of was that some Atlus empoye or another person that had a stock pile unloaded them all, or this sort of scenario. I guess it's a good thing...
Aww crap, so Rez did get a reprint after all? Looks like I might have to shell out for the US version now. D'oh.
We here shall not rest until we have made a drawing-room of your shaft, and if you do not all finally go down to your doom in patent-leather shoes, then you shall not go at all.
