GOG Galaxy

So basically it's GOG's response to Steam etc. Idea is for it to be useful as a game manager but with everything attachable: if you don't want friends lists etc you just switch it off, if you want offline just do it, in the usual GOG fashion. Bold claims, not all of it is there yet.

I'm quite liking it so far although through trying this out I've noticed they recently decided adding 200MB of DirectX redistributables to Raiden III as part of the core files was necessary even though it didn't need it before and I've had that shit installed for years. That I suppose is another can of worms altogether though.

Anyone else got a hold of this before it goes live to the masses? Any plans to try it out once it does?

I'm unlikely to use the client much but I still DLed the beta just to give it a try and send Red a bit of feedback, since I overall like what they're doing on the digital distribution front.

I'll be trying it out. I wind up using Steam just for the simplicity, DRM be damned.. so this is a good move IMO.
