You're missing the sound board so you won't have music. I have the pinout mapped at home but out of the country now.dingsbums wrote:After years of "dead PCB" status it finally is back alive:
I read that a Madcatz MC2 is good for hacking it to a Model 3 PCB - problem is - does anybody know the analouge / Racer PCB / Scud Race Model 3 Pinout ?

Just got Mushi Futari ver 1.5. As fantastic as the 360 port is, there are a lot of subtle differences in enemy strength and slowdown between the original PCB and the port (particularly in Maniac mode).

Nice catch on Roc’n Rope, The gameplay is just as solid today as it was in the early 80s when it first came out in the arcade.

Nah... I've never been terribly fond of Futari BL. 1.5 Maniac though, is easily one of my favourite Cave games so I felt that snagging the PCB was worth it.BareKnuckleRoo wrote:It really is a wonderful experience being able to play it on the PCB. Thanks BareKnuckleRoo for posting a pic!BareKnuckleRoo wrote:A full kit of Mushihimesama Futari BL Another Ver.
Sadly, the thin sticker seems to have a nasty crease. The cardboard thing (?) is pretty cool and in good condition, as is the rest of the artwork. Is laminating the original paperwork considered a no-no? I'm thinking it'd be nice to protect the stuff.
The outer box the package was in was well padded, but the CAVE box inside of it had the PCB in just one thin layer of bubble wrap. It was held by a pair of slotted cardboard inserts though. The CAVE box itself was a bit beat-up, not sure how normal that is:

Re: The Official Cool PCB You Just Got Thread!
I feel like kind of a dick posting this after seeing bareknuckleroo's box, but i got my Mushi Futari Yaton label kit in today and it's pretty sexy.

The dip sheet has a couple wrinkles, and the box has a small hole and dent on the side (visible in pic two), but other than that it's minty. As far as playing the pcb goes, the boss health nerfs make me sad. There are so many patterns that you would never see, and it makes all the fights way too fast and easy.

I feel a bit sad seeing your box. Even those cardboard inserts in the box are less wrinkled. I haven't even had the chance to give the PCB a spin yet.

Nice to see someone got a new looking product, as Yaton advertises. I'm not sure why people seem willing to give him a pass on the shitty condition of his items.
I'm still trying to get my return processed and it's a huge PITA.

As long as the PCB itself works I'll be happy. It's not JP BL but it's fairly close, and it came at a far lower price than JP BL full kit would.brentsg wrote:I'm still trying to get my return processed and it's a huge PITA.
Out of curiosity, why are you asking for a return? Did it arrive in really bad condition, or were you in one of the earlier auctions before it was explicitly clear it was not a "Japan Kit" i.e. it was the international easier one?

Re: The Official Cool PCB You Just Got Thread!
Mine's for a poor condition DDP2 kit, not Futari. In Yaton's favor, he just refunded all my money. Ebay told him to pay for a return shipping label, but I couldn't get past that with him. I'll still be glad to send it back to him, but I doubt I see a label.BareKnuckleRoo wrote:As long as the PCB itself works I'll be happy. Re: The Official Cool PCB You Just Got Thread!
some Rotary games are kewl
. i like the arts of Victory road. but from the gameplay years ago i found it surprising that i was the only one in europe to enjoy the "Rotary Mame Druid interface", I have two PCB and they remember me good times in French riviera near italy, i like them much : S.A.R (for the possibilies of movements and the Aliens feeling) & Heavy barrel (for the gauntlet aspect of grabbing keys for parts of the Gun).
before some hype..., they costed nearly nothing in europe (25-40€ /game even had one offered by a fella collector). i even got NOS rotary controllers with the tool (20€ the 3..) . in the business someone said me they hated it back, because of modifying panels for it (which is not quite difficult..)

Another owner of The Deep appears. I have the same board, but it plays as Run Deep. Has a VISCO sticker rather than Wood Place in the corner.

Whats this about resurrecting Baryon? You found a broken board, or looking to convert?

Re: The Official Cool PCB You Just Got Thread!
I found out that the Dream World (and Cute Fighters) PCBs are really, really close to the Baryon hardware. So close in fact that if you take all the Baryon chips (ROMs, QFPs and MCU) and load them on a Cute Fighters, it runs just fine despite the second OKI being present. Haze mentioned the code had support for a second OKI which then isn't used so I expect this was the reason. Dream World doesn't actually have enough sockets populated, I was going to fix Baryon through motherboard donation - I've given up trying to fix the actual one, looks like a PAL has fried.Dave_K. wrote:Whats this about resurrecting Baryon? Then of course I find that Dream World is an original anyway, so I can't kill it.

Quiz & Dragons is lots of fun. You do need a 2L8B panel to play it properly though.system11 wrote:http://blog.system11.org/?p=1529

I've been using the joystick for button 4, and 3 panel buttons for 1-3, it's not too bad that way and the greater challenge is my near zero knowledge of baseball.emphatic wrote:Quiz & Dragons is lots of fun. Also posted epic repair post on the blog too for the strange boot/clone Gundhara I bought, that was probably the most involved repair I've had to do since it involved actual modification and inventing some new logic to bypass a broken PAL.

Re: The Official Cool PCB You Just Got Thread!
Finally found a SAR pcb! It was untested on Ebay and I offered a lot less than originally asking and they took it. It booted up to garbage but after reseating the roms and booting up to test menu it fired right up! It came with original manual and a LS30 harness. I already have LS30s and most the other rotary games so I'm all set. This game is so AWESOME!!!

I don't have my rotary panel in my cab right now but interestingly this game has a dip to switch to 8 way movement only so it'll play like Outzone. It doesn't play that well in this mode but still an interesting feature!

I have found the pinout and wired in a steering wheel, brake & accelaration pedals & a shifter alreadyShou wrote: You're missing the sound board so you won't have music. I have the pinout mapped at home but out of the country now.
I got this (once defect) Scud Race for free from a very good friend but without the sound board - I would love (and try) to track one down but the sound board on it's own is hard to get. In the meanwhile I have burned the four audio tracks on a CD and play them from there when I play Scud Race

Dings: you need to get some static resistant bubblewrap, seriously.
You can also get actual antistatic bubble bags now which are the pink ones with a metallised outer, not cheap but it's what i'm buying at the moment.

Not cheap. Also kind of slow to ship, but they're the only supplier I know of. What I'm doing is as I take games out of storage to play or whatever, I take them out of the old standard pink bag and put them back in one of those (if they'll fit).
