Genesis Model 2 Black Screen with Audio

As the title says, I have a Genesis model 2 that is just hooked up with the original RF adapter, and gives me audio but just a black screen. (I'm just now discovering that there are better ways of connecting a console to a television). It was working two days ago just fine, I turned it on yesterday, and no picture. This is on a CRT. I have an LCD that I had it hooked up to with the same RF adapter, it worked on this TV two days ago, but now I get nothing, not even audio on the LCD.

Anyone ever have this kind of problem before? Audio and black screen with RF adapter on CRT. No audio no video with RF adapter on LCD. Thanks!

i would try hooking it up with something other than rf. even a composite video cable would work. your rf box on the console might be bad or the connector on it could be corroded.

Trying a different cable was my first thought, but as a model 2, my genesis only has the one 9 pin mini din port. Any way to test if the connector on the console is bad before I start buying new cables?

Not really. You can get a Gen2 AV cable for ~$5 on ebay.
