DECLINE: a bite-sized android shmup

Post by beet »

Hi there,

Would be interested in feedback for my game, DECLINE.

It features procedural ship generation and infinite levels of increasing difficulty, with online high scores. A long game lasts about 15 minutes.

Touch-based controls only, which works a bit similar to a mouse: you hold your finger down on the screen and move as you drag your finger around the screen. The ship appears a bit above your finger, and auto-fires. There's no movement speed limit, and you can teleport across the screen by tapping for a minor HP cost.

I'm not quite sure what category of shmup it falls into: it's not a bullet-hell, as you definitely can't dodge all attacks, you have to focus on damage minimisation. Enemies/bosses/players all share the same weapon list, though the player is limited to 8 weapon-slots, while enemies are not.

(v1.2.1 has some minor improvements & should show up in google play within the next few minutes, whenever google gets around to approving it.)

Major inspirations include Raptor: Call of the Shadows, and Tyrian 2000.
