Darius gaiden... Extra?

Hi everyone!
I can't find the info i need about this game. In particular about the EXTRA version.
There is the normal version (without the rapid-fire) and the extra version (with autofire, which i prefer).
In the extra version starting with P2 is different than starting with P1. What does it change except the obvious first stage which is different for P1 (player 2 starts like the non-extra version).
Other things apart from the possibility to choose the next stage (present in normal but removed in extra)?

Player 1 side is a jumbled version of the original game. It does have you select routes just like the original.

Player 2 side is every single stage in a row, with the original stage order (from A to Z).
