XRGB-Mini Connection Advice

Post by kjoy045 »

Hello,

I am relatively new to the xrgb scene. After shelling out the cash to pick up one of these bad boys I am looking for advise on what cables to use in order to set it up properly with minimal issues (Pumping out another 100+ dollars just want to be sure I get the right cables). CSYNC is what throws me off throughout the whole thing with pure and amp cables and then strippers I'm not really sure how to go. This is what I have currently for hardware;

XRGB Mini (With the standard JP21 to RGB Adapter) - Would prefer to use EuroSCART RGB if possible.

NTSC Sega gen 2 model with Sega CD Add-on
NTSC Sega Saturn
NTSC Nintendo 64 (probably going to mod with the retrorgb.com amp for rgb through multi-out)
NTSC SNES
NTSC Gamecube (Have US Nintendo branded Component Cables)
NTSC Playstation 2 Slim

I know their is a large XRGB Mini thread but 247 pages of info is a lot to sift through when looking for specific information pertaining to my setup.

Thanks in advance for any and all advice :)

Cheers,

Anything with component like your gamecube and ps2 I would bypass the mini and check your component on your tv. Your 64 does have to modded but I think the colors are more vibrant personally and I bought the sync on Luma from retro console accessories. My snes and modded nes are both csync euro scart. I would not recommend the Jp-21 unless you already have more than one and buy the euro scart to xrgb cable also from retro so you don't have to change your input cord between consoles and some consoles that are modded to output rgb are hard to find Jp cables for when euro scart are readily available. There is also no benefit from -Jp 21 as they are the same wires reconfigured in a different order. I would recommend goin to retro rgb dot com for a good console specific breakdown of cords and differences between quality.
