Re: Little things that annoy the hell out of you
i am out of a job because the fucking HR fucked up. I left my old company and joined the new one, now they tell me i have problems with the documents of the first place i worked at, which no other employer had a problem with till now. they are telling me that if i cant fix that they cant hire me, leaving me without a job. was supposed to be the first day at work, and i am already pissed with this place.
also, wtf is wrong with my computer, switches off at random.

i missed basically the whole of the ps2/gc/xbox generation and only caught the tail end of the next one and I find it very hard going back and playing games from the ps2 generation where you need to control the camera a fair amount. why do they all control backwards? why did this ever make sense to anyone? if I want to look to the left it is not the most natural thing for me to do to move the stick right.

One little thing that I find jarring as hell: people pronouncing "giga" as "ghiga" and not "jiga".
Remember Back to the Future? "One point twenty one gigawatts?!" This is the correct pronounciation, as formalized by the NIST.

It's an English thing, i guess. It's not unusual for us who speak Portuguese.Stormwatch wrote:One little thing that I find jarring as hell: people pronouncing "giga" as "ghiga" and not "jiga".

Two working class dudes, one black one white, just baked a tray of ten cookies together.
An oligarch walks in and grabs nine cookies for himself.
Then he says to the white dude "Watch out for that black dude, he wants a piece of your cookie!"

People who talk too quietly or not clearly enough on their Youtube videos. It's either "Whisper whisper whisper", or "BLPBLPBPLLL BBBBBLLLPPBBBLLL BLLPBBBLBLL" with them. ENUNCIATE, MOTHERTRUCKER!

Don't hold grudges. GET EVEN.

I'm guilty of mumbling to an extent, but recently I was recording some dual-commentary video over gameplay, using skype.Specineff wrote:People who talk too quietly or not clearly enough on their Youtube videos. After this I have to meticulously edit my own audio because the levels are all over the place, I'm either so quiet or horribly loud.
..I then realised skype was automatically adjusting my mic volume the whole time, for the whole of windows.

No wonder it fluctuated so badly.

Twitch chats where conditions for being timed out are extremely vague. There was this thing where you could only post in 30 second intervals, so having a conversation is impossible, and random people kept getting timed out in addition to this limitation making the chat utter bullshit. I was timed out several times and I could find absolutely nothing in the statements I made to suggest why.
Not to mention the guy streaming sounded high as fuck and his partner barely spoke and when he did he uttered an incomprehensible phrase in a quiet batman-like voice making the chick that was only on for a bit the only tolerable company. Once they switched games to Kerbal Space Program I couldn't take it anymore. Watching a high dude attempt to make an entire space complex is pitiful. I had to leave.

Re: Little things that annoy the hell out of you
I guess this could be construed as me being somewhat anti-social but one of the things that bugs me the most is when I'm at work and people feel the need to talk to me all the time about stuff as I'm working. I used to sit in a cubicle where I could just sit alone and work on stuff without being bothered much but about half a year ago management moved my entire team down to the NOC floor where we basically sit in 2 big semi-circle desks. This means that the guy sitting on the other side of the wall from me can at any time just stand up and ask me stuff.
Now I like the guy and all but really more often than not I'd rather just listen to podcasts and get stuff done. I usually will just have headphones in and people will still just come up to me and start talking. It gets frustrating because I clearly just want to zone out and work but yea people still feel the need to just shoot the shit. We get so many calls as a team anyway so really having any kinda of "down-time" is rare, so this definitely factors in to the overarching scenario.
I just hate feeling rude when I purposefully avoid eye-contact and kind of make myself sound disinterested in whatever they are saying. It sounds bad because essentially what I'm saying is I only like engaging in conversation on my own terms haha

Getting crap for wearing my Koss ksc-75 headphones out in public. Every time I wear them I get this reaction out of people. Mostly they just look and snicker. This black guy walked up to me one time and said "That's just like white people they are always trying to bring old stuff like back".
I'm not trying to bring anything back. I just hate having my ears raped by plugs. Really comfortable, sound great, and affordable, so I don't care. When did headphones become a fashion show?

Never tried a pair of KOSS I didn't love. Sure, they mostly look weird, but who cares, right?

Speaking of Koss, according to USPS tracking, my PortaPros that I sent in for warranty service arrived in late March and I haven't heard anything from Koss since then, now I'm gonna have to find time to call them, and I'm sure it'll suck
They were really good sounding headphones though, especially for the price

What's so weird about those? I was self-conscious about wearing huge 'phones in public at first, but earbuds are too terrible. Now I don't think much about it. Sound is king.MOSQUITO FIGHTER wrote:Getting crap for wearing my Koss ksc-75 headphones out in public.
Something to not wear in public: cologne cloud. I shouldn't be smelling anybody 20 ft. away. A dab will do, Don Juan. ;[
Re: Little things that annoy the hell out of you
Well, Porta Pros are really common here (and widely available as well) so you wouldn't stick out wearing those *glances at mine* but as of late I've really started to feel annoyed with a new headphone fad.
I used to sigh when I walked into a train carriage and see nothing but people starting down at their iPhones with the white cords dangling from their ears - "there are better cheap earphones out there" I would scream in my mind.
Lately though, people have gradually started to walk around with bigger headphones. Skullcandy used to be really common but now Beats, as mentioned, is really popular and I see a couple of different Beats cans on a daily basis. Marshal cans are also popular and every now and then I see some Sennheiser Momentum on-ears. But there is a pair of cans which irks me even more than the Beats, they're the "Urban ears Plattan"-headphones. Since they're a Scandinavian brand, they've also become widely available - often you can get them as a package deal when you upgrade your phone or simliar, which means that a ton of people are walking round wearing these single-color cans which to me looks so incredible cheap - similar to those old Army men figures. And then, there are also cheap knock-offs of these. They're like the Crocs of the headphone world.
And it bugs me a lot somehow
Which is odd, since I've never listened to them and they're cheaper than the Beats, so I can't hate on the price
They're just....so ugly. And when everyone is wearing the same dang headphones, I just feel that they are sheep, unable to pick out a good product among other products....who knows? They might be a really decent pair of ugly headphones?

I don't know man. Just the other day I went outside to smoke while I was wearing them and my neighbor was outside checking her mail and she did the whole look at me and snicker thing. I can't even count the amount of times that's happened. I don't see anyone wearing them here. I'm guessing because they don't sell them in the usual department type stores.Rob wrote:What's so weird about those?MOSQUITO FIGHTER wrote:Getting crap for wearing my Koss ksc-75 headphones out in public.
