Version 2.0 of my Consolized Sega Naomi

Post by muckyfingers »

Here's my version 2.0 Consolized Sega Naomi. I used a Naomi 2 shell because I wanted it to match the netdimm. The Naomi 2 motherboard is much too loud for me to use and I don't care for any Naomi 2 games. I internalized a Raspberry Pi running Piforce tools and a navigation wheel to select my games that are stored on the SD card. I added an RJ-45 jack to the back and am using a PicoPSU 90w version, though I will swap this out with a 150w later. A Sega I/O board was used for the controls and a Dreamcast controller port is wired up to the Maple Bus for P1 and P2 for the games that support them.

Thank you, it has been quite a long process, but worth it. :D

Awesome! Thanks for sharing. I'd add a vinyl sticker over the metal and internalize a mini SLG, if possible.

I hope to consolize a Naomi 2 eventually, (already have a NetDimm). Gotta have VF4.

With the power draw of the Naomi 2 and the Netdimm I think you will have to do an external PSU (Sun PSU preferably). I didn't test the Naomi 2 much since the noise of the fans was a deal breaker for me. I would like to add some stickers to it eventually. I have the sega font used on the Net City cabs, I just need someone to print them.

I have an external SLG3000, which is great for the 2D games that need it.
