Knightmare remake for Window$ ready!

Post by Zosite »

Ladies, gentlemen, for those of you still interested on this little jewel for the venerable MSX by Konami...

Lo! The Window$ remake is ready, released by Demon VideoGames and already updated once. I've been playing it for a while and I must say it's splendid given the possibilities of its source as long as you want to see the original spirit of the game properly preserved.

Find it here: http://demonvideogames.blogspot.com.es/2015/03/we-lanuch-remake-of-knightmare.html

Ok, it's not Garegga (bright colours, you see... couldn't find more differences myself  ) nor it's the kind of shmup I'm used to, but I honestly think it's worth a try... or a thousand for that matter; the original MSX game is infamous for being quite difficult, though I must admit I didn't play it enough back in those dark days, and they say this remake is even harder. Besides, Demon VideoGames guys are from Spain, like your not-that-humble servant, and I found myself kinda... forced to give credit where it's due.

I loved Knightmare on the MSX; definitely top 3 along with Penguin Adventure and Salamander. Will report back.

Holy shit!
Don't post much but this is just amazing news.
I'm 30 yo and only tried this game a couple years ago, I had a c64 back in the day but nothing until megadrive then ps1.
Took me a long time to realise this is the kinda gameplay I love lol.
Anyways I'm so busy right now that I don't know when I'm gonna get a chance to try this, but I'm really excited to play this.
If anyone is unfamiliar I would say its kinda like undeadline, but I find it funner and I enjoy the secrets. Check it out :D

I can still hum the music at wish.
Great game, though knightmare 2 (not a shmup) was better and a real fave of mine. :)

Knightmare 2? You mean Maze of Galious! Unlike its first part which is not so widely known, Galious is seminal, indeed, to the point that superb games like La-Mulana and Unepic (<--- spanish development... AGAIN!) are homages to it. But then again, not a shmup but a platform game. Nevertheless, that's what I call good taste, sir. 8)

I like Pippols better (although that could use some gameplay tweaks).

The way out is cut off

Oh yes I mean that. My c64 owning friends came to watch and help me play this because they thought it was the shit then. :o
Made up for me always asking for r-type and bubble bobble when i was at their house.

There's a knightmare 3 too btw (called Shalom), but never localized and supposedly an average rpg.
