I'm wondering if there's any difference in video quality between scart being fed into a scart-to-component converter (then connected to the component inputs on a tv) and just a straight-up component video cable.
Thanks in advance

Depends entirely on your entire video chain, but generally, no.

Depends on what you mean by 'scart' since it supports everything from composite to RGB.

There's supposedly a very small quality drop, but assuming a quality converter there's no way people would be able to tell which was which in a double-blind test.

Between RGB and component, not between transcoded RGB and native component... assuming a quality converter of course, and assuming the OP means component video as in Ypbpr. There's supposedly a very small quality drop

That's what I meant, though I didn't explain it anywhere near clearly enough.BuckoA51 wrote:Between RGB and component, not between transcoded RGB and native component... assuming a quality converter of course, and assuming the OP means component video as in Ypbpr. There's supposedly a very small quality drop
