RQ: Radiant Silvergun 2 player route?
RQ: Radiant Silvergun 2 player route?
I'm not sure why but 2 Player superplays are something I enjoy and Radiant Silvergun seems very ripe for a good 2 player route. Optimal routes always seem to leave plenty of enemies left to chain. It might even open up more creative chains and cooperative play. Only issue is I've been able to find absolutely zero information on it for this game. Leaving me only able to sit here and theorycraft.

Sounds cool, I'd be down for seeing something like this too. Always interested in co op shmup stuff.

Problem is that, contrarily to Ikaruga, the chain takes so much time to reach its full value that splitting ennemies between two players will just decrease the overall total score.
So if one (two !) want(s) to 2players-superplay it, they should not focus on score but rather on total number of chains made, which the saturn version does not keep track of.
Does the XBLA version does that ?

Not sure I agree with the number of chains since you still have to play for score for weapons.guigui wrote:Problem is that, contrarily to Ikaruga, the chain takes so much time to reach its full value that splitting ennemies between two players will just decrease the overall total score.

You might be able to make a two player chain in some stages. But 3B for example more or less has only Reds.
In 3A you can make a pretty good chain of equal scoring for both players at once. The plan I had was to identify optimal, and sub-optimal chains in stages, along with stages that two players can chain well enough on enemies that doesn't mess either's chain.
