Dead XRGB 2 Plus ?

Post by acem77 »

what an unlucky day, 1st i discovered 2 of my cps1 jamma main boards are bad(sf2 and ff). while testing those with my XRGB 2 Plus it died.
there were a bunch of rapid clicks then off.
As of now if i unplug power to the xrgb and plug it back in i get a standby light, when i hit power i lose all lights, and have to unplug it again to get the standby light.

Has anyone run into this before?
could it be a bad relay hence the clicking?

All the older XRGB models are notorious for failing PSUs (or to be more precise: failing caps inside the PSUs). So, if you were still using the orginally supplied PSU, just get a replacement or re-cap your existing power supply.

Cool, thank you very much. That was the issue just tried another 12vcd psu and it worked.
voltage reading on the original with a load was around 4vdc.

Maybe ill have some luck with my glitchy cps1 jamma pcbs....
