Super Famicom SD Gundam Shmup name??...

The Xenocide Files lists "SD Gundam 2" as being a shmup, but it's a role playing game! So, what is the name of the SD Gundam shmup for the Super Famicom

Well, there's SD Mobile Suit Gundam 2 and SD Gundam Gaiden 2 - Entaku no Kishi.

One of them is the half run n' gun half horizontal shoot'em up. I always just saw it referred to as SD Gundam 2, so I'm thinking Gaiden is the RPG/strategy game.

Edit - The prequel SD Kidou Senshi Gundam V is the same hybrid shooter/run n' gun type of game, by the way. Includes Char!

Well, SD Kidou Senshi Gundam V is the only one I could find-on Gamefaqs, or anywhere else. Not bad, but not that great either. I could not, however, find a listing anywhere for an SD Mobile Suit Gundam 2 game for the Super Famicom.

Edit: Found it! It's SD Kidou Senshi Gundam 2! Even better game then the first one I mentioned-you can pick your own suit!

Ah, my bad, my brain did a bit of automatic retitling. Kidou Senshi = Mobile Soldier -> Mobile Suit.

Yeah, picking the different suits gets a different stage progression, as I recall. The 2P vs. mode has a lot more variety of selectable mobile suits, including game boss characters.

Sorry to revive a very old thread but would any mind linking me to screen shots of the SFC Gundam shmups. The two mentioned in this topic and any others that are actual STGs. I'm having trouble find specifically which ones out of the many Gundam games on the SFC are actually STGs. Thank you.

SD Gundam: V Sakusen Shidou
SD Gundam 2

Both are what were referred to before. That pretty much covers it.

Also, for the hell of it:
V Gundam - Not to be confused with first title listed here (named for the "Operation V" from the original show). It's mostly just kind of a side-scrolling shooty beat em up kind of sort of thing, but it is interspersed with a few shmup segments. None of it is very good. The graphics are somewhat interesting at least, and there's a translation for it out there for some reason.

That's all I can recall, if you're looking for SFC only.
