Not sure if anyone's posted this, but I didn't see it. I'm sure trap15 will straighten me out if so.

Save yourself the trouble and skip to NHL 95. That's the true, best, hockey game (on Genesis) ever.

Ahh, NHL 95. The only sports game I ever actually enjoyed.

I had NHL '94 on both the Genesis and later got it for DOS. The DOS version was absolutely amazing and shits all over the console port. Super Sharp VGA graphics + Gravis pad. I loved the Genesis port, but I played it so much on the PC.
