Gradius in the hu-card slot and Kaze Kiri over in the CD tray.
No matter how good a game is, somebody will always hate it. No matter how bad a game is, somebody will always love it.

I haven't played mine in months but when I saw this thread I said, "What the hey, I'll open it up" and sure enough there was a CD in there. It is Sylphia. Too bad I'm about to leave the house or I'd give it a spin. I really think that's my favorite upscreener on the system.

This thread caused me to pull out my Star Parodier for a short break from work this afternoon. Like a Kirby platformer, it's good for kicking back, relaxing. It isn't likely to draw me away from Twin Cobra, though.

Another one with Soldier Blade. It's been in there for months, and is my default TG-16 place saver.

Hmmm..., I think a change might be in order. Perhaps Ordyne?

Been in a box for the past few months but I'd guess at Galaga '88 cos that's pretty much my mainstay on PCE.

Tragic. Don't they got any good games for slot or tray over there in Japan?

Dunno about the Snatcher game, but Daisenpuu hucard is utterly excellent. Ugly graphics, but perhaps the best shooter on PC Engine in terms of quality gameplay.

Rainbow Islands is the most worthwhile thing I've found for the PCE CD. I prefer the MD version of Zero Wing.

At least we agree on the ugly graphics part. Rainbow Islands is definitely great, but there's other more pertinent stuff for CD IMHO.

Let's have a list Pa, I usually like your recommendations. The shit I've already heard of and liked: 1943 Kai, Be Ball, Bomberman 93, Daisenpu, Magical Chase, Nekketsu soccer + dodgeball, Parasol Stars, Rainbow Islands. Outrun, Powerdrift, and Chase HQ are better on Saturn. Devil Crash better on MD.

Magic Engine myself:

It varies, New Adventure Island was the last Hucard game I played, Super Raiden and Daisenpuu Custom were the last CD games I played.

Haha, sorry to leave you hanging like that but all of my PCE and TG16 stuff is in the storage. However, I do plan to bring it all home. I was diverted last night by a ladyfriend but I should make it out there tonight.

Without my games in front of me or the old TFP2 "PCE CD Softs" thread I am drawing a HUGE embarassing blank. Damn stoners.
