NEC MutiSync XP37 Plus no video playing for old consoles

Post by tacoguy64 »

I can hook up my laptop to the tv but when I try using this BNC to SCART connector I bought from ebay, all i get is a dark pictue with some horizontal lines. I also get sound. I am almost certain it's an easy fix but I can't figure this out. I hooked up my model 1 sega genesis and got this out of the tv...

You might need a clean sync signal. On the MD/GEN model 1 you can achieve this by using the sync output instead of composite. You just have to add a capacitor in line with the sync signal. For other systems you might need a stripper.

My next question before i do anything is if making modifications to the cables or adding a sync stripper give me issues with my xrgb mini set up?

No, the Mini gladly accepts both.

Finally received my arcade syncStrike and got all my consoles working on my tv. It was very easy to set up and everything works without any problems so far. Thanks!
