that fan-boat-thing section almost made me give up on it. boring as all hell.
You gotta be kidding.. that part is awesome. It's got explosions... and a helicopter... and oh man... no seriously, I love that part. The part I hate is the friggin' sentry gun defense section in the prison.

We here shall not rest until we have made a drawing-room of your shaft, and if you do not all finally go down to your doom in patent-leather shoes, then you shall not go at all.

I agree, although I got stuck for an entire day on this level. When you get the explosion across the width of the canal, I assumed this was the signal to abandon your boat and carry on on foot. Never even bothered to try steering round. Got to the helicopter at the other side of the toxic tunnel, and predictably, got wasted. Finally ran my way past that (cursing the 'inept' and 'unfair' design all the way :D ), and got stuck at the second toxic tunnel. Sat there for hours playing with the four barrels strewn around there, assuming you had to beidge your way through with the gravity gun or something. Imagine my reaction when after four hours or so I finally went back to check on the boat to be absolutely certain  God I can be dense sometimes.

i sort of agree, it would have been awesome but it is way too long.

that whole section, i'll equate it to Dragonball (all series). i knew some people in high-school that were nucking futs over it. i however, thought the series was a total yawner, and they were flabbergasted. "boring" they said "it's all action." "yeah" i agreed "a big half hour fight, with some talking thrown in. absolutely riveting... NOT"

i'll stop now, as my self-indulgence has already gone way far.
I have no sig whatsoever.

Resi 4 is soooo good. I loved every second. Up to El Giganti? SO MUCH MORE TO COME! and all soooooooo very very fun.

Anyway, I'm going through Half Life 2 (xbox) at the mo. I'm halfway through, and thus far, it's been...good

There's loads I love about it, but my main criticism would have to be that they repeat the good ideas too much, weakening the pacing of the game. Going through the sewers lasted far too long, Highway 17 lasted too long, etc etc etc. Not a major problem for sure, but it does feel like a bit of a slog at times.

The havok engine/physics - when the game can out, I felt this aspect was really hyped up. So when I play the game, why does it feel a bit gimmicky? You can move boxes! You can pick stuff up! so what?

Best bits for me have to be the fire fights against the combine troops. I love these big time. Machinegun? Magnum? duddaduddaduddaduddaduddaduddadudda! BLAM!

and the laser guided rocket launcher?
