Every time I play Dodonpachi, it's a little better than I expect it to be, and a little better than I remember it to be; great game really.

Hotdog Storm on the other hand... I got that one too. What is that thing? It feels so... cheaply made I guess? I keep getting slowdown all over the place but the emulator is always running at 100%. Whatever ¯\(o_o)/¯

Mamoru-kun 1cc with Nowa. Now I need to do it with the other characters. That and clear the Netherworld Adventure courses, but I'm not looking forward to anything in Nowa's Challenge set, and I don't have Demon Course unlocked yet either because I'm stuck on the one where you only get 2 minutes per stage(which is just enough to reach the boss of Southern Temple before Deaths come and ruin your chances).


Did the order Castle, Castle Mission, Southern Temple, Southern Temple Mission, Original Mission, Aerial Gardens, Aerial Gardens Mission, Home of Cherry Blossoms.

Had quite a bit of mistakes with deaths and chain breaks, so it's not like my score was anything good though Nowa doesn't seem that great for scoring. Managed to get to the TLB with all 3 lives in stock this time, and for once I didn't even need them. No Miss TLB fight, which I have no idea how because that second phase feels extremely cheap, and generally the curse shot covers some of the boss's bullets so I don't notice them so I get hit, but I somehow managed to avoid that this time.

Mamorukun 1cc on Max Difficulty(5 stars) with Nowa. Honestly, i didn't really notice much of a difference between this and the default(3 stars), but they apparently have a trophy for doing it. Got hit I think once during the run(maybe twice) so didn't get the no miss trophy, but this run contained yet another no miss of the TLB somehow(sure, I get these when they don't matter).


Did the Temple, Entrance of Netherworld, Aerial Garden, and Home of Cherry Blossoms on this one. I managed to speedrun through those levels quickly enough that I didn't even need to do any of the Missions to get extra time to get to the TLB because only 3 star difficulty gets recorded on the leaderboard, so no point in going for score on it, so I just rushed through it.

Hey everyone, it's been a while!

About two weeks ago (or so), I started work on Judgement Silversword: Rebirth Edition Normal Mode (Xbox 360 version) with the default ship. This occurred right after I got my 1st ever LNB (Lunatic No Bombs) in a Touhou game ever (GFW C-2 Lunatic mode), and when I got that one, I decided to go outside of Touhou again to go try out some new skills I've gained from playing mostly just Touhou for a month & a half, especially since I got my 1st LNB, and I chose to do Judgement Silversword, particularly since I've come to really figure out how to utilise my new capture card and all, meaning I can actually livestream console games and all, which is great, considering that JSS doesn't have the option of letting you save replays. That, & I've always wanted to play that one for a while.

Anyhow, all that said, not long ago, after about almost two weeks, I finally got my 1st 1cc of Judgement Silversword Normal Mode with the default ship, recorded and everything! Really pleased about that, & I haven't even cleared both SA & UFO on lunatic yet! ><

Congrats on JSS Default Ship. I'd suggest going for Hard mode when you get the secret ship as it is very well prepared for that mode. Hard Mode on Default Ship is extremely hard though.

yeah, it's too bad Mamoru-kun doesn't support replays. Would love to see how a high scoring one goes to get tips from. I've done it 1cc with all characters now by just ignoring the missions(except for the one that you need to do in a TLB 1cc run, which is the mission for the boss that corresponds to the same character in Story Mode, though it's Aerial gardens Mission for Luchino and Castle Mission for Nowa, so make sure you at least do the mission needed for the gallery in a first 1cc). Also no missed with Beniko for the 1LC trophy by just speedrunning through Castle, Entrance to Netherworld, Aerial garden, and Home of Cherry Blossoms.

You don't need to do the missions to get to TLB if I made it sound like that. Just do 4 stages without running low on time and you'll get the True Final Battle. Depending on how long you take, you may need some Missions to get back time, and the Missions are a must for scoring. But if you get to World 5, it should be the TLB regardless of how much missions you did or didn't do(so it's kind of pointless to have the World 5 and World 5 Ex options on Restart Syndrome unless running out of time in Stage 4 gets you Final B, but I think you only get Final B if you run low on time before World 4), though All and All Ex are fine being there because there's 2 different final stages (Final B which is the bad end for running out or low on time, then Final A which is the True Boss). Final A is the only one that will give you the 1cc or No Miss achievements/trophies.

The TLB isn't as bad for me now as I've noticed a few tricks that help for the second part and the third part, but it can still game over me easily. I've now got an 8+ million score on Fululu, but I've got a lot of improvement to go.

At this point, I'm going to be going away from Arcade Mode for a bit. I want to finish the last 3 Netherworld Adventure Courses so I can get the platinum trophy. I just need to do Evil Spirits of Nature(Gotten to the Castle boss which is the last part of it but screwed up), the last of Fululu's Challenge(Gotten up to stage 7/8 on it), and The Atonement of Sheep(This one is going to be horrible)



Oh, and the Leaderboards seem completely broken for the most part. The Time one is useless for Arcade Mode, Netherworld Adventures doesn't even seem to have all the courses showing on it, and I haven't noticed any of my Netherworld Adventures stuff actually uploading to it. At least Arcade(Score) works, even if it takes a bit of time to update.

Yeah, I actually am thinking a lot about doing Hard mode of JSS with the secret ship, since I've heard a lot about how doing Hard mode with the secret ship's a lot of fun, considering how powerful the secret ship is. I think I'd like to do that one after I unlock the secret ship & do Normal mode again with that particular ship.

Hmm, yeah, I've heard a lot about how hard mode with the default ship's quite brutal. In-fact, if I'm not mistaken, I think SFKhoa sort of cleared it in Hard mode with the default ship, but he lost his last life right when he killed the final form of the TLB, so it wasn't a clear, either.

Yeah, as much as I liked Mamoru-kun a lot and I wanted to do lots of stuff in that game (I know the game wasn't that hard to beat, & I was close to beating it within the time frame of a few days), I felt like the lack of being able to save replays on Mamoru-kun was pretty off-putting to me, since I really like to save & record replays, and that's why I just put that one off for quite a while, but now that I actually have a capture card to record runs off of console games and all, I can actually pick back up on that game pretty soon and pick up where I left off in that one.

Just cleared musha aleste md maybe not particularly difficult but one I've wanted out of the way for a while, it probably would have helped if I knew that you could change the option formation when I first got the game a while ago! still, one more off my list (I love md shmups!) only lost one life during the whole run, so, easy or not, I'm happy.

Not a bad score but my screen shots are too shitty and blurry to post...

EDIT: nice to have a relaxing break from cave stuff... Much as I love them!

Managed to finish the last of the Demon Course on Mamoru-kun. At that point, the Evil Spirits of Nature Course wasn't much of an issue outside of the castle boss which I barely managed to beat. Used Fululu, Luchino, and Nowa for this one.


Then finished the last of Fululu's Challenges. The last one of those involves playing all 5 Normal Stages, the Bad End final boss, the True Final Boss, and the Original Mission. I'd have to check who I used, but it was either Fululu/Mamoru/Nowa or Fululu/Luchino/Nowa.


Then finished Atonement of Sheep after several attempts. That one was a pain because of the harder patterns than you'd see in Arcade(at lower rank at least), Netherworld Adventures mode being widescreen meaning that there's even more stuff that can get you easily even from off screen if you're not paying attention, most enemies shooting suicide bullets, and a lot more enemies. The order of stages is pretty much designed to likely ruin the very end of your run(Entrance of Netherworld, Home of Cherry Blossoms, the Castle, Aerial Garden, Southern Temple, Final Battle, Original Mission, True Final Battle). I was pretty much relying on getting to the final part of the last stage with Luchino and/or Nowa still alive to easily handle it since it's actually harder than the Arcade TLB's phase 3(though phase 2 seemed a bit easier though still screwed it up). Of course I screwed up and ended up with only Fululu left, and the tricks for the third phase don't even work because of there being even more bullets fired than arcade(though thankfully no suicide bullets during that part) both normally and due to it being a widescreen mode so bullets that wouldn't be shot on arcade were. I somehow managed to avoid crashing into an enemy especially when I accidentally had cursed them.



Doubt I'll be playing Shining Star Remnants(the final Fululu Challenge) or Atonement of Sheep(final Nowa challenge) again for a while unless I have some reason to try to score on them(both of those are the closest you're going to get to an All Stages run of the game, so maybe I'll feel like that especially since the pressure of trying to just get the clear is gone). Especially not doing the first 2 Nowa challenges again(Reaper always chasing you + 2 minute time limit, Suicide Bullets + 2 minute time limit are just annoying). The Nowa Challenge with double bullet speed was pretty fun though, and there were a few other fun courses in the Netherworld Adventures mode that I may revisit for either score or the speedrun leaderboards.

I've been playing Kokuga (3DS) for a bit this week. It's a pretty nice game. Today 1cc'ed route B-C-F2 on Normal. Due to the length of the stages, anything more than a two stages + final boss sequence could be tedious.

Got some nice score on Metal Black, i'm at around 650k, while WR is at 740.
Would be nice if I could hit 670k extend, or even the 700k mark, but that'll require a lot of luck.
For now I'm personally satisfied with my current score.

Greatest thing ever! Just crushed batrider advanced with Gain, got the Galaxy Valhallyzer TWICE and just annihilated everything up until right before Grubby. The final stage wasn’t looking good, but got back up to 2 lives for discharge. Mistimed the safespot, back down to last life, but then broke 6mil after the ceiling came down and got another extend. One bad miss, several panic bombs, and many clutch moments in the final showdown... still can’t believe I made it out alive.
