Given that it's a sequel to Ibara then, yeah, hopefully. Then again, given what Cave have done to the Mushi franchise with Mushihiimetama, this could be a turn-based war strategy for all we know ^_-

Then again, if Ibara got an Advance Wars-style TBS spinoff, I'd probably be pretty good. Maybe.

Do my eyes deceive me, or do the words "Pink Sweets" appear on that image, along with cartoony lettering and a little heart following...whatever that says? My inner skeptic is setting off the ol' internal warning buzzer, and it says "Dating Sim"...but Cave wouldn't go THAT low...would it? Then again, whoever that is in the background looks like some kind of pimp or something...

I see no "2" anywhere. I'm wondering if that's Ibara Black Label.

EDIT: Assuming the flyer came up today, it should coincide w/ the News of the day, which is the Black Label bit.

Well, the colorful section there on the top talking about the next Ibara in 2006 says it will be "super cute", and it has the label "pink sweets". Actually, "Pink Sweets" could be the TITLE of the game. I'd guess it will be some cute'em up. I have no idea why they'd say "super cute" unless this was the case. That might be pretty cool actually if it is true. Something really DIFFERENT from Cave, at least. It's definitely a shooting game though, it says so right on the page. Note, this is NOT the Black Label, but a sequel to Ibara. The Black Label Ibara is also mentioned on the page, but in the release section.

I dunno, I get the impression that they mean it in the "that girl is cute" sense more than the "that kitty cat is cute" kind of way. A cute-em-up from Cave would be interesting, certainly, but I doubt they'd make one out of Ibara...I'd guess that the "super-cute" thing just means that they're going to up the cheesecake factor. Then again, I don't know Japanese, and thus what kind of insinuations the word translated above as "cute" might make, but going by my instincts, I'm definitely not expecting "Paro-bara."

Right, but remember the theme of the first one was "pretty/beautiful". Anyways, they say "ero kawaii" which is more like "sexy cute" so I go with BM's suggestion. Interested to see where this goes.

Now that's interesting...I was kinda under the impression that "Ibara 2" and "Ibara Black Label" were 2 different things...when the "black label" of DOJ came out, it was basically the same game but with a few changes, right? Maybe the only difference in the "black label" of Ibara is that they give the gals a new closetful of fetish wear, and everything else remains exactly the same.

Just wanted to clarify: as I say in the thread I linked to, I think it would be awesome if Cave made a manic vertical comical shmup. But when I say that I mean something with a theme more similar to Parodius or Star Parodia with truly cute-cartoony characters. A gay comedic Ibara is not what I had in mind.

I might be wrong but in that report where "Espgaluda 2" was announced as a future arcade project it didn't actually mention "Ibara 2" did it, just a new version of Ibara. People assumed it was a sequel but in hindsight surely they meant the Black Label version? Always seemed odd to me they'd do a sequel straight away and for a game that wan't huge. A Black Label for the die hard Cave/Raizing fans, OK, but both?
