Will A Super Retro Trio Work with a XRGB Mini

Post by StriderNo9 »

I've read a lot of the XRGB-Mini and I own a Super Retro Trio, it comes with composite and S-Video. Anyone with experience know how well this works? Does t require you to configure it every time you hit the switch to play with a different console?

If you have the budget for a Mini, there's little point using a cheap clone console with it.

If you're going to go through the trouble of getting an XRGB Mini you should probably be using RGB (where possible) on an original console.

Thanks for the advice, honestly it's less about the money and more about the space. Being in a small NY apartment has it's disadvantages. But the point being it should work, and without having to reconfigure it every time? Since the output is the same.

The reason suggest moving on from the 3-in-1 3rd party consoles is because they usually don't output a clean signal and aren't very accurate in terms of color and sound. If you're only going to use S-video the XRGB Mini is a waste, I think you'll be disappointed in how it looks for the $300 price tag. if the multi-console is a must for you the generic $50 composite/S-video upscalers will work just as well.

To answer you're question, the settings depend on the signal source, since NES/SNES/Genesis games output 240p they'd all basically used the same settings, you might have to do a little tweaking depending on the game and your preference though.
