Hi,
I'm new here so i hope this is the right place to post this. Just bought a mini XRGB and when i connect it to my Mega Drive there's some trembling in the image and some kind of horizontal lines.
It's connected throught a RGB cable with an HDMI output. If i plug it directly to the tv (also with RGB) this doesn't happen.
I need some help figuring out what's wrong in the configuration.
Thanks in advance.

Are you using Scart or JP-21? You need an adapter if using scart for it to work in the mini properly. If you already have this part correct, then it sounds like you need a sync-boosted cable. Here's where I got mine and it works flawless:

Also of course would need to know what model Genesis you have and what country you are in. Also use the mini's "Picture" in the image mode for 240p consoles like the Genesis.
BTW, nice user name, Mr. Wolfe

I already have a EURO SCART Sync and non-sync mini XRGB adapter cable (bought from retrogamingcables) i'll buy the mega drive RGB with sync.
Thanks for your help.

But again, what image mode were you using? Make sure to only use "Picture" for 240p consoles. If that doesn't resolve the horizontal lines issue, then it does sound like you need the boosted sync cable. Also keep in mind the version of Genesis you have is also important, since the later models use a different cable.

I tested with all image modes and configurations possible. I have the 1st Mega Drive PAL model the cable is right for the console the quality of the cable is another thing.
This only happened with the MD i never had any problems with the PS1 or Saturn. As soon as i get the sync cable i'll post here again.

Understood. That does sound like weak sync issue, which is a problem with the Genesis.Winston_wolfe wrote:I tested with all image modes and configurations possible. I have the 1st Mega Drive PAL model the cable is right for the console the quality of the cable is another thing.
