Phoenix, Az?

Post by MadSteelDarkness »

I just found out that I have to attend a trade show in Phoenix this weekend, and was wondering if any of you gents in the Phoenix area had any recommendations for decent game/record shops.

Thanks in advance. :)

Record shops? I'd have to recommend Zia's Music on Indian School BLV.

Stinkweeds @ Central and Camelback is a nifty music store, that I find much more appealing than Zia. Less stuff, more quality.

I'm not sure how busy I will be, this weekend, but PM me your phone # and maybe we can hook up!

Here is another vote for Stinkweeds, they have locations in Phoenix and Tempe. Eastside Records is another decent store also in the Tempe area.

Give me a shout if it looks like you guys might cross paths Brian. I am not sure what my calendar looks like this weekend but I might be down to hang out for a bit.

Okay, I'm going to admit something very embarassing, but here goes:

I don't have a cel phone.

However, let me see if my boss (who will also be attending), is cool with giving out his number, and I'll shoot you a pm. The trade show will last 'til sometime in the early evening, but I should be free and clear after that each day.

Again, thanks for the info, guys.

I don't know about Stinkweeds, but during my weeks stay in AZ, Zia's Music did impress! Still, check both out then!!!

PS: I would have stopped by to hang out back then(Heck yea!). I was with my band, and I didn't know any of you Arizonians at the time. :(

You MUST come out here soon!

Eastside Records is great, but I miss their huge salt tank.... It used to be that if I couldn't find any Man Or Astroman or Shonen Knife stuff, at least I would be able to admire the pretty fish. Wah.

Howdy gents.

I just wanted to thank everyone again for replying. Unfortunately, I wasn't able to get anywhere near a record shop. Not only did I have to attend the trade show, but afterwards I had to tool around Scottsdale, checking out other shops that sell what I sell, in terms of price and selection. Oh, and my boss was unkind enough to not let me give out his cel for my own silly "personal" reasons. Ah, well. At least this gig pays pretty well.

By the time I was done each day, I was so wiped out that all I had the energy for before going to sleep was getting pleasantly toasted at the hotel bar (by the way, I have to give props to Adelina, the bartender, for making some damn fine screwdrivers, all doubles, and for comping me about half my drinks, even though I didn't ask her to. Suffice to say, my tips were fat.).

Anywho, yeah, thanks again.
