Blizzz started a thread about RetroArch devoted to shaders, and I didn't want to pollute that thread with general questions about setting up and operating RetroArch on a number of systems. Might I suggest those looking for advice / guidance list which platform and version number they are using?
I'll go first.

[Wii] nightly 20141126 and 240p CRT problem
[Wii] nightly 20141126 and 240p CRT problem
Posted a bug report and tried to ask on the libretro forums but 24hrs later and my confirmed account still has no posting privileges.
Using retroarch-wii-1.0.0.x.nightly-20141126.zip. Wii is set to 480i, and outputting component to a Sony PVM-14L2.
1.Any 240p resolution that doesn't begin with 640x results in a garbled GUI, but the game underneath displays at the correct frequency. For instance, using the PCE Mednafen core set to 512x232 results in a distorted and unreadable GUI (game is fine), while on 1.0.0.2 it was "pixel perfect".
2. When setting the video resolution, the resolutions no longer switch on the fly but require a button press to enact the change. Is this intended behaviour? It was much easier to spot compatible resolutions on my CRT when they changed as soon as selected...

Finally, HID-USB devices are now supported and implemented by Retroarch Wii:
Unfortunately the latest nightly doesn't seem to be compiled accordingly to make RA recognize my SNES-to-USB adapter. It worked with the previously released HID-test-suite by crediar though. Maybe the nightly lacks the autoconfig file or even the driver (although there are several drivers which seem to support the SNES USB pad). Anyway I don't know if this is just poorly compiled or needs to be compiled manually to get it working. Help appreciated! In order to have a controller working you need:
1) Have a matching HID autoconfig file in autoconfig/hid for your controller.
2) Create a "connect" driver for the pad in "input/connect" folder (source code of RA).
3) Once you are in RA, change the joystick driver to HID and restart.
4) You may be now able to use you USB HID compatible pad in RA.
I included some "connect" drivers as an example. It also need to include them for compilation.
