Damn Tim, you know there are quite a few Americans out there who still lives in tents due to this shitty economy, and you're dropping loads on a single game which only last 20 min. Do you think it's fair? How much did you spend this time?

Best review ever (by a user on steam):
10/10 Soundtrack, 10/10 Relaxing 2nd level, graphics are fun to look at, there is a WARNING dialog before a bossfight, you fly to the right and cover the screen with lasers.

Redux Dark Matters is getting an upgrade for the Dreamcast, I assume.

Getting really sick of these guys. I saw that today on facebook too. It feels like they are doing it on purpose now as a cash grab. The games ain't even that fun.
Guess I just have a problem with taking preorders almost 2 years before a game is planned to come out (ahem....Ghost Blade) and they still don't spend the time to test them completely.
Oh well. I'll go play Blastwind again.

Yeah, I'm not really sure what to think about it. The part that gets me is the line that says, "Will look super crisp via S-Video, RGB and VGA". What about composite? Pretty much every other Dreamcast shmup looks fine through it, heh.Lordgalvar-II wrote:Getting really sick of these guys. I saw that today on facebook too. According to posts on their FB page, people that bought it via eBay or the HuCast online shop will be elligible as well.

Just for info. Shipping to pretty much anywhere with German post, carton or a padded envelope up to L*W*H = 90cm up to 500 grams costs like 3,45 € MAX.
What do they need those other 2,15 € for? Trying to make a profit of their own mistakes I guess. But I guess the CDs need to be manufactured as well. Oh well. Still shitty either way.

In a month, I wonder if they'll follow up with "sorry, you need to pay an extra 10€ for padded mailers and tracking, otherwise your discs may mysteriously never arrive, or arrive broken."
I might be confusing this with Sturmwind.

They're not allowed to have more versions of their games than I have. This calls for an update!

I don't really have time for these anymore. Maybe if someone could just call me when they release the final, fixed version of each one then I'll give it a try. Thanks.

Don't worry, they'll run out of replacement discs and not everyone will get one, just like last time.

I'm pretty sure I'd have to double the object count limit for that to work ..Jeneki wrote:Massacre + Doom mode please.Udderdude wrote:They're not allowed to have more versions of their games than I have. This calls for an update!

They've posted a comparison video for the 1.1 release. Damn, the original release sure looks quite like a smear compared to what it should have been from the start.

Re: Redux (DUX 2) (DC/iOS/Steam), Trailer up - PC Demo out
I grabbed that this evening. For some reason, the music plays as if it were on a CD and someone was holding down the fast forward button (or as if frame skipping were on in MAME). The game plays fine and smooth, but the music is all kinds of messed up on my old XP desktop, despite that my PC does surpass the minimum requirements.
As for the constant update shit, that's pretty much par for the course with these guys. Customers pay them to be their game testers, then the devs charge everyone for the update patches to fix what their buyers found. It's what happened with Last Hope (original Neo-Geo version= v1.0, original Dreamcast version= v1.1, "Pink Bullets"= v1.2), and Dux is getting the same lame "development" cycle.

Re: Redux (DUX 2) (DC/iOS/Steam), Trailer up - PC Demo out
Could I possibly get a few quick opinions on that game before I buy it? I'm kind of wary of getting games just because they are cheap. So, shmup veterans, what's the verdict on that game? To me it looks like a rather garish version of R Type.
I watched the Bullet Heaven review but, not offense, there seems to have been quite the grade inflation recently, so I somewhat doubt their reliability, particularly given that his Steam account says he's only played the game for 2.2 hours.

The point of which is to take a chance - i.e. minimize the potential (monetary) regret while possibly finding a pleasant surprise.Bonus! wrote:I'm kind of wary of getting games just because they are cheap.
My impression is that your experience would fall on the side of regret - though I could be wrong.
However the PC version doesn't deserve the flak that the Dreamcast version has gotten - but it isn't a game one would gets particularly obsessive about (i.e. "Shmup veterans" would either not bother with it or would play it without much commitment).

Thanks for the feedback! It's much appreciated.
I'd rather take a gamble with regards to games I think I might like, not some game I can't seem to get excited about at all.
