What are you going to play on PC using this?

There's typically always so many goodies inside and some of the fattest manuals in existence. I swear, Sim Ant weighs like a pound. Really love some of the custom stuff as well, like the triangle Eidos ones (Thief, Tomb Raider, etc.), or really any that open up like a book for that matter. Speaking of books, love that Heretic looks like a tome. Too cool. I'd be CIB all the way with console as well if most of my load wasn't blown on DVDs and Blurays. I get all teary eyed seeing everyone's sexy minty boxes and some of that awesome MD art like El Viento or Alisia Dragoon, to name a few off my head that I've lusted after. Had to pick my poison, I suppose. The life of a hobbyist is a rough one, indeed.

Pretty much what I did - spartan as hell on hobby stuff outside of console/portable game collecting. I slum it with DVDrips, scanlations and the like. To be honest, I kinda like having One True Vice. Keeps things simple.

How long does it take for a brew?

Well, if you heat water in a kettle while you set everything up (clean & affix filter, grind beans, etc) then the time from start to finish is very low once you get the hang of using it. I'd estimate 5 minutes prep (mostly for the water to heat on the stove) and just one minute to brew. The real time sink with the vacuum system is cleaning everything. I'm a bit of a clean freak, so I clean absolutely everything after each use. That's two strangely shaped beakers, a beaker lid, my hand grinder, the filter, the wooden stirring stick, and whatever mug I drank out of. Part of the appeal of this thing is how aesthetically pleasing it is in the kitchen, so I want to keep it looking as nice as possible.

Is it worth the trouble? I think so. I'm a big coffee drinker, and prior to getting this Hario I was brewing with a crappy Mr. Coffee drip brewer that I got from Target years ago. The difference is night and day. This thing brews the cleanest tasting cup of coffee I've ever brewed myself. Now that I have it I have been trying out quality coffee beans from around the world and I feel that I can actually do them justice. I've even gotten my wife to drink some iced coffee I've brewed through this thing and she doesn't even like coffee.

Haha! Love finding stuff like that. Fun finding old notes, commands, etc. Some people occasionally leave entire notebooks of crap in old PC RPGs which can be fun to skim through. Not exclusively PC, but some of the oddest shit I've found was someone's (poor) custom hentai drawing in a Dead or Alive game and a random picture of someone's baby in the manual of General Chaos. Of course both were left in their original environment and saved for posterity.

We'll see. Things. I have one of these babies, so that can certainly get some use. Maybe I'll actually look into N64 emulation further since the GC pad would certainly feel better to play that with than a PS2 pad, which is my to-go PC gamepad otherwise. I have this weird idea to try playing Ragnarok Battle Offline with the GC pad, too. I'm sure I can figure out some applications.

Works perfectly with Smash, btw. Maybe I should look into that Nintendon't thing too, though I'm going to system transfer from the Wii first.

I got this abstract strategy game through the post yesterday, it's great! kind of like a mixture of Othello, draughts and connect 4 with room for really deep strategy - which I haven't at all got worked out yet. thankfully my girlfriend enjoyed it when we had a game, helped along by the fact she won, as other wise I'd probably never really play it.

Thanks. it's pretty much just a display piece for me, so I had been looking for one with a good box for a good price for the past year or so.

Shipping alone from Japan must be at least $30 so it's not easy to find one for a decent price. It seems like the type of item you could find for like 1000-3000 yen with a little work within Japan though.

I once salvaged a Warcraft III manual from my local library's "take it off our hands for free" bin. Every single illustration was carefully scissored out along the edges, likely to be glued all over some kid's school notebooks.

I also acquired CIB copies of Suikoden IV, Sonic 2006 and Fusion Frenzy 2 out of that bin before.

Rayman 2 on PC is pretty much my favourite "slow" 3D platformer. In 1024x768 with (forced) AA&FA it was a sight to behold, too. DC version is supposed to be graphically improved, so I had to take a look.

ta. yeah it was part of the gipf series, which was definitely more than a trilogy but I don't remember how many games were in it in total. tzaar is another game from the gipf project that I may well buy. although it's pretty expensive to buy them here as no uk or even eu supplier has them, so the postage is generally the same price as the game itself. I was pretty lucky in finding yinsh from a seller in frnace.
