Post by pixelcorps »

so, does this mean we get ALL the characters with the CD or, a blind selection?

and is the soundtrack any good?

I really want the figures more than the soundtrack.

Arrg, way to go Cave, giving out all the goodies with the soundtrack, but shafting the people who actually buy the game once again. They did it with Mushi, and they're doing it with Ibara. I don't know how Ibara's music is, but with Mushi, they definitely needed to create some kind of incentive to buy the soundtrack.

You've got a point. I definitely wish these were including with the game rather than the soundtrack. But then again, if that were the case I probably wouldn't buy the soundtrack ...

I don't really know if it's been posted (I searched for it but didn't find anything about on the forums), and some people may already know about it, but here's the situation:
Cocoebiz wrote:About the Ibara Soundtrack and Figure Set from Cave...

Cave has a policy to sell their items domestically as a priority, (so they say), but I tried my best to distribute their exclusive items for overseas fans at the same time. But it's been really tough to deal with many "expensive" items at once for a limited time such as their "one-day-only-sale" deadline policy.

I'm sorry to announce this, but I have to wait and see if they will have extra stock left over after the release date.

I have decided not to take preorders on this Ibara Set this time. I will try after the release date if I can help overseas fans.

Please send your email to me if you are interested in buying this item, if available. I will put your email on a Wish-List for the near future.

I hope we see a brightside to this situation, and hope there is a light at the end of the tunnel...

Thank you very much for your understanding and patience.

My deepest regards & apology to all Ibara music fans!
Found about it today....
I hate bad news... :( (that said I'm kind of "happy" I don't have to pay extra cash for a figure I don't really want, but still pisses me off not getting another apparently good Cave soundtrack :? )
Just a couple more shots!!!

Come on people, don't lose hope yet. Kahori posted an update yesterday.

"Also... Ibara OST, please wait for about a week on this. I hope we can bring good news for you, but sometimes the road is like an Ibara, No rose is without a thorn, but still hope there will be a rainbow after the rain.
Thank you again and have a nice start for February!"

I think good fortune will be on our side. Let's bide our time and we'll see next week :)

Oh seems like I missed to check the blog... Thanks for pointing out, Dragon God. That brings hope then :). However, I really wish there was an option to order the cd only, as I'd rather want not to pay for the figure :?

I think mushi both ost and figure met my expectations but all of these things are seriously overpriced.

lucky I'm a die hard sampling masters fan. I agree objectively their music isn't always as worth a buy as let's say yack's.. but many of their works rock! like technictix, internal section, 2197 not to mention the dragon saber ost of hosoe's :)

well well looking forward to it.. and I really hope all figures included.
not likely too many sampling masters fans would go for just the music so that figures wouldn't cost half package price each if on ebay.

I really like how they're lying around.. they'll look more made at home on desk.. crossing fingers for full set include

You know...if you own the game on PS2, I'm almost positive you can rip the music from the game. 8)

Y'know, the nicest thing about having the OST, is the figure that comes with it, and the higher quality AND Arranged tracks on the CD ^_-

yeah, and zuntata, basiscape and samplingmasters usually arrange eachothers releases which is really neat :) especially nice to see iwata doing something these days.. still hoping for something new like magical chase.. (same goes for hosoe and dragon saber but his modern style is solid aswell)

The Teresa Rose figure is appearing on YAJ now. The auctions don't seem to indicate whether they appear with the OST CD though. I'm still holding out for Cocoebiz or Play-Asia to get stock. If they can't then, YAJ time it is -_-;;

Speaking of Ibara, there's a PCB up on YAJ for 50,000Y ^_-

From what I can deduce from the website, seems like the Teresa Rose figure is included with the soundtrack (correct me if I'm wrong), pretty much a la Mushi. So, I guess the rest of the figures will be either sold separately or included with a special edition of the game, just like Mushi again (most likely...).

Just wondering: who are the composer this time? Is Namiki back on this one, too? I think I read about that somwhere, but I don't really know if it's true at all.
I'm really looking forward to the CD, anyway. I enjoyed the few music I could hear in replay videos :D

Composer is Shinji Hosoe (Ridge Racer, Dragon Spirit, Dragon Saber, Xenosaga II In-Game Music, Under Defeat, etc...).

It's only going to get worse*. I am sure that Espgaluda II and PinkSweets ports will be out before the end of the year. And that's just the beginning. 4 shmups have already been announced for Xbox 360...

edit: *or better, depending on your viewpoint

!! sounds great, I was worried they'd include just one random with the game. that'd be very evil.
uah, and I thought I wouldn't buy an xbox360...
but then.. I could play orta again, I don't have to borrow machine :3

hmm think i'll pass after seeing the figure up close.. I think the designs work better in illustration form than in 3D

the words "gaudy" and "a bit embarrasing to have on my desk at work" spring to mind

so it's already up on play-asia? Hmm interesting, and nice fair price too.
Sorry to be kind of offtopic, but since quite a few people here have bought from play-asia I'm guessing it's a realiable place? I might order there for the first time, 'cause I'd rather not getting it from cocoebiz if it's overpriced again (same goes for Shadow the Hedgehog soundtrack)
