I picked up a cool doujin STG last year for PC from Playism called BlackArt, and have absolutely no idea what I'm doing. The developer seems to now be defunct except for RT's on Twitter of the trailer. The mechanics are interesting even if it's not very straightforward. Some Ikaruga influences here and there, mixed with some RPG elements. It would be a cool game if there was some guidance, but so far not much info turned up. So I thought I'd see if anyone here has messed around with this.
I would love an English guide as well. There used to be a nice manual on the circle's website that helped me when I played this game, but it has been too long since and I have forgotten most of the mechanics. It might be helpful to watch this full replay of the game:
I'm not sure what happened to this circle. They were going to rebrand themselves as SpriteArts and they mentioned that their next game (an action game) was in development. There were even rumblings of an overseas edition of BlackArt.

Thanks so much for the reply and for dropping those links, Aisha! I'll give them a thorough look. Yeah, an English guide would be tremendous! The manual that was packed in with the game is cool, but my Japanese is virtually nonexistent.
I've been hoping that an international (english localized) version of this game would come about, but I'll enjoy this version as much as I can. It's a really nicely crafted game! I wish it got more attention.
