Space Megaforcing

Post by louisg »

Hi, I recently broke out my copy of Space Megaforce. What exactly are the difficulty level differences? I notice that the shots and some ships seem to go faster on the harder ones. Any other gameplay changes to be aware of? And any major differences between this and Super Aleste?

I'm not sure about the differences in the difficulty setting, but in the US version all Anime-style characters were removed and the music for stage 3 is different (probably because in the Japanese version it's a rip of a song by New Order).

normal = normal
tricky = suicide bullets
wild = suicide bullets + faster moving enemies
hard = enemies shoot more frequently and some take more shots to kill them
hyper = enemies shoot more frequently and some take more shots to kill them + faster moving enemies

WITHOUT the story.Gameplay is the same yes.
for example: you get different little galleries after clearing each difficulty in SA but in SM you only get a "thank you youre great stfubbq" message.

Wow, did the characters make appearances during gameplay, and was the ship the same?

Also, Hyper completely wastes me after the first stage.. what is the farthest anyone has gotten on this diff?

The characters just appear in the intro, options menu and the ending. The ship is the same.

Anyone know where to find screenshots of the Super Aleste stuff that is missing from Space Megaforce?

Hyper seemed to be the hardest setting for me, but it's still not too tough since you can rack up extra ships fairly quick in this game.
