Too bad, Shatterhand. But maybe you'll get you PC back to normal in time and can join us with a score. :)

Edge - 2'972'700 - 4-1 - Mame

Have tried 2 hours yesterday and one hour today and still feel very uncomfortable with this game. Ofcourse I'll still try to do my best in this week, at least I'd like to reach the 3 million... and after the 3 mil. let's see how much further I can get. ;)

Ok, I've managed to make 3 runs on the game before the computer crashing.

This is my best pathetic effor

Shatterhand - 1,975,700 - 3-2 - MAME

This puts me in last place... Well, better be at last than not be at all :)

I am obviously doing something wrong, as 3-3 scores are much better than my 3-2 score, and I can't believe there are so many points opportunities just at 3-3 :D

Skyline - 4,181,920 - 4-4 - MAME

NAILED 2-1 and 2-3, which I failed to do during the last run. Still can't clear 4-4 to save my effing LIFE though.

Sorry, but I hate this game.
I have tried it several times the past days and I just can't play it for a long time. I get too frustrated after one hour I feel like breaking my pad, and than smashing my keyboard into the monitor...

So I won't try this game any longer, it's not healthy for me. And I couldn't even beat the 3 million, although I tried.

And good luck on your scores in this game, I'll just wait for another game next week... :)

Thanks. Though i wish i found this shmeet thingie earlier. I'd rather prove my suckage at something that isn't so.. annoying as Space Bomber. Usually i get a nice groove going with a couple of games a day, but here my score just went from bad to worse.
Finally beat 2 million <just...> and decided to quit while i was ahead.

To each his own, but i'm up for the next game.

I can't stand this game either. In the beginning it's a bit fun, but when I have to learn the chaining stuff I always mess up or crash into one enemy while trying to collect the money bags...

Here you find the poll for next week's game which starts tomorrow... or the day after tomorrow: Next Week's Poll

And the current ranking is linked in my signature.

I don't think it's necessary to collect all of the moneybags, as they can lead you right into the path of bullets in many occasions. I think in my plays, I miss a large portion of moneybags - about 40% of the total amounts collected on estimate - and prefer to score with bigger chains instead. Moneybags do make up a good scorefiller though, if you can safely get lots of them at once (like on the long line of drones you can chain in World 2-1, for example).

EDIT: And welcome, Sword. Hope to see you in the Hi Score Forum a bit more ^_^

The game is amazingly frustrating at times. I can pretty regularly get to 5-4 now. But I usually have no lives left when I do and the boss kills me with that fireworks-style attack. The money bags are not the big point givers .. they probably give maybe 500k over the course of an all-clear (just a completely random guess). The big points are the chains. And after level 2, there are only a few places where I knowingly can get 100k bonuses. I usually am just happy with x7-9.

Some of them get pretty difficult. You have to leave a few enemies trailing from the previous set to trigger the next set, but you have to destroy the remaining set AS the new set is coming in to get the 100k.

Still easiest game to chain in though :)

Yeah, I'm in the same boat as you. I can make it to World 5-4 regularly now, No Missing up to 4-3 at least, but the speed of the bullets and enemies is making it hard to chain and stay alive at times. I've slowly worked on safe strategies though, and I think I can make it past 5-4 if I can get the boss down.

Right now I'm looking to the earlier stages to improve my score. I've had several 5-4 runs end at around 5.6mil, so I think I can break 6mil by 6-1, IF I ever make it there -_-;;

Psikyo games still don't agree with me, and this one is quite sedate in the early stages -_-;;

Fuck this game. Fuck it right to hell.

It's a sign for me to stop playing when I redamage my knuckle. God damned piece of shit 5-4 boss's fucking fireworks attack. I made it there with 5.5mil and got hit by the last one. The 1st half of the boss is easy. But god damn those fireworks. They are so fast, and so many. And the popcorn enemies keep on shooting those little bullets at you while you are dodging an already difficult attack. If I can get there with 1 life in stock I'm ok (I've been as far as 6-2), but it's so rare.

I'll never 1cc this anyway. I can't handle the last phase of the last guy.

I may not have a chance to post this before the thread is locked. So here is the wolf 102 recording:

http://marp.retrogames.com/inp/f/2/7/ls ... olf102.zip

100k combos in worlds 4 and above where the enemies aren't flying chains or galaga style are near impossible.

What's even worse is this is a piss poor run up to 5-4 ... it's 6-1 that saved my score.

Good luck Icarus - I'm done with this game. My hand hurts.

My last score of the smeet. This score achieved was last night.

Icarus - 5,888,700 - 5-4 - MAME

6mil by the World 5-4 boss is definitely possible, but I've been afflicted with insomnia the past week, and I'm far too tired to play at the moment, so I'm leaving this one as is. I need to get my rest X_X

I have a replay saved of a 5.62mil trip to World 5-3.

It's over. Please make sure your scores are correct. If not, please say so. You may want to double-check the board before you close it, Shatterhand.

Heheh ^_^

It was a close one this time. I found Space Bomber very difficult, and almost gave up on it. You'll get some 1st places soon though, just keep up the good performances ^_^

Thread hasn't been locked yet :) I know this doesn't count but it's a good place to post it.

I played *1* game of space bomber today (to take back my 1st place spot on MARP) and I did it.

I got to 6-3 with over 6.1 million points. Always too late for the comp :)

Ended up getting a few 100,000 point bonuses in the later stages that I had never gotten before. 6-3 boss completely destroyed me.

Wolf 103 replay for the curious:

Nah, the comp is over and the score doesn't count. I was happy to get to 6-3 though.
