at first please let me say I really hesitated to ask this because I am new here and I don't want to be seen as someone only looking for attention while asking unimportant things or the annoying guy who overanalyzes technical stuff instead of posting some bad ass scores, since my first post was about something similar
But I really want to know and nobody could tell me so far, I've searched the internet and shmups itself but can't find the answer.
I'm playing Futari BL on Xbox360 via VGA on a NEC XM29 and the Xbox360 is set to 640x480, the screen is tated.
In the options, the AR can be set to "4:3 / 16:9" (let's just call it 4:3) or "Free" (and "5:4 / 16:10" but that can't be it, can it?
When I change the AR to "Free" it is closer to the one I've seen on the Superplay DVD but not the same.
So I can only guess. When set to "Free", Reco's aura of invincibility at the beginning of each stage looks like a round circle. On the DVD it is slightly oval and in "4:3" mode it is even more oval.
Based on the thought that the round circle version of her aura looks most natural, I first thought the "Free" mode must be the right one. But then I noticed the full stop punctuation marks (excuse my English, I'm talking about the "."s) look squeezed there, but must be squarish I suppose.
By the way I have no clue about PCB's native resolutions and I have never played the one of Futari.
I just want to know how the game "actually" looks like in terms of the AR and play it that way then because I've played it for hundreds of hours already and I'm not done yet
