Games you are looking forward to in 2015

Post by MOSQUITO FIGHTER »

Is there anything interesting on the way this year? I'm way out of the loop.

LEL, no one mentioning Mighty No.9

I'm waiting for ports of Wangan Maxitune or any Initial D (mostly not happening) and Gundam EXVS MaxiBoost. Also the new Arcana Heart and maybe Nitro+ Blasters (Looks awful as hell but I want to play it).

Seconding Mighty No. 9.

Starfox and Zelda for WiiU, though I suppose there's the chance that the Zelda game will get pushed back to 2016. Also looking forward to Art Academy getting completed, but that's not a game...

There's a Sonic game every year, so I suppose I'm looking forward to whatever they're doing this time around, hoping against hope they'll make something at least halfway decent.

Uh... wasn't Qute or M2 or somebody making some STGs this year?

This topic reminds me that I, too, am out of the loop on video game news...

At this moment...

Trails in the Sky SC
Time Crisis 5
Xanadu Next (XSEED registered the domain, so this is most likely coming. I've played through the Japanese version with the Figli di Gaucci English translation, but plan to support XSEED when it comes out)
Hellraid (Techland's take on Heretic/Hexen)
The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt
Tekken 7
Star Wars: Battle Pod
Doom 4... uh, wait. Now just "Doom" actually. Supposed to have fast strafing, no reloading, and a walking arsenal.
Mighty No. 9
Raiden V (probably will not buy Xbox One, but will hold out hope for a PS4 version)
AND... Whatever Flying Wild Hog has for 2015. Hard Reset is well done- if it happens that a sequel comes out, they've got my money.
Kinect? KIN NOT.

What?! Seriously!?

Interested in alot of what you listed, but that surprises me the most!

edit: Nevermind. Went to the site and although it looks interesting and has some elements of those games it doesn't interest me in the least.

Bloodborne - Getting a PS4, if this lives up to the first two games in the series (didn't care much for Dark Souls II...different director and all).
MGS V - After playing Ground Zeroes, I'm salivating to play the whole game. If they do it right, I could see it being a masterpiece.
Half Genie Hero - I really liked Pirate's Curse.

And I'm interested in seeing if Devi's Third can be improved by the time it comes out. Those graphics need work.
I was psyched for years, but then when the new trailers came out, I lost interest. But the director said a lot of work has been done to the graphics, and Nintendo is working with them on it. And for whatever problems I have with Nintendo, they don't tend to release half done games, or release games before they are ready.
Still hate "Ivan"'s design. But honestly, Bayonetta is kinda gay, in terms of design and music, but I love it anyway. (no offense to actual gay people)

Looking forward to seeing if Scalebound is good, but I can't do much about it since I don't have an Xbone. Maybe if Platinum made a few more games on it, I would think about it. Worked for the Wii U.

Time Crisis 5
Raiden V
Mortal Kombat X
maybe Silent Hills once more is revealed...

I still need to catch up to 2014. I know I want to check out Alien Isolation & Fatal Frame V. That Godzilla game for PS3 might be fun.

Are we finally gonna have consumer model VR this year? It's as if the fuss has died down without getting started. I wanna pilot a star fighter & pretend it's the Vic Viper

MGS5 : The Phantom Pain. I loved every minute I spent with Ground Zeroes, and the fact its an Easy S-Rank helped me feel like a man and not the simpering, needy little shit I actually am :(

Just going by memory and wikipedia, so there's probably some other stuff I'm forgetting:

Bloodborne - The reason to own a PS4.
Corpse Party: Blood Covered
Dark Souls II: Scholar of the First Sin - Looking forward to finally playing through the DLC.
Dead or Alive 5 Last Round - I haven't played any of the DOA5 games, so now's as good a time as ever to give it a shot.
Devil May Cry 4 Special Edition
Devil Survivor 2 Record Breaker - Sequel to the best SMT game. Not expecting it to be as good (the few hours I played of the DS version definitely wasn't).
Devil's Third - New Itagaki game. It looks like shit, especially since this is coming from the people who made the greatest action game ever just six years ago, but I'll be there.
Earth Defense Force 2 Vita - I'm guessing this will get localized. If not, I'll just import it.
Earth Defense Force 4.1
Majora's Mask - Might as well give this a shot since it seems to be a lot of people's favorite Zelda.
Metal Gear Solid V - I've only played through Ground Zeroes once, but it seems like this has the potential to be the best MGS.
Monster Hunter 4 Ultimate - I'm dying for a Wii U port, but this will still be one of my favorite games of 2015 either way.
Natsuki Chronicles - I'm hoping this will be more like Eschatos than Ginga Force.
Persona 5 - A new age of milking begins.
Phantom Dust - Could be amazing or a total waste of time. Just depends on the development staff and business model.
Scalebound - New Kamiya game. Enough said.
Tekken 7 - Maybe. I might just stick with DOA5 for some casual fightan.
Toukiden Kiwami - Probably won't get it until long after it comes out, if ever.
Xenoblade Chronicles X - I want to like Xenoblade, but the stripped-down-MMO combat makes it hard.
Yakuza 5 - Feels like I've been waiting forever to play this. Not expecting it to be as good as Yakuza 4, though.
+ More localized Falcom games
+ The Evil Within DLC

Should be a good year.

I am right there with you. Other than that not much else. Which is good considering I am actually making progress on my backlog :D
You're sure to be in a fine haze about now, but don't think too hard about all of this. Just go out and kill a few beasts. It's for your own good. You know, it's just what hunters do! You'll get used to it.

The only game I haven't seen mentioned here that I'm curious about is one called Salt and Sanctuary, an indie title that is in no uncertain terms a 2D Dark Souls Metroidvania title. Might end up being shit, but I've always thought these mechanics could work really well in a 2D platformer world. Now I'll have a chance to find out.

I'd like to get excited about Darkest Dungeon but I was really having problems with the presentation style...not that it was bad or ugly, but I don't know how long I could deal with it.

I'll be fappin to BDOOM v20 whenever it shows up. A few bugs aside the latest version is enough to keep me happy more or less forever, but new iterations always seem to pleasantly surprise me.

Tentatively optimistic about Silent Hills, as a big fan of the four KCET games. It's nice to finally have another in-house game in the works, after a decade of cheapo outsourcing. I don't think it's actually confirmed for this year... anyway, I hope it takes as long as it needs to. The series started flagging as soon as its dev time began to shrink after the original two and still best games.
