Is this the original NFSMW (2005) or the one Criterion developed in 2012? 'Cause I'm interested in the older one.

The NTSC-U versions of the following games work on a NTSC-J system:

Darksiders 2
Viva Pinata Trouble in Paradise

The NTSC-U version of The Witcher 2 does not work on a NTSC-J system.

I wanted to buy Resident Evil HD but saw that it's not released as an XBox Live Arcade game. It's listed in the Games on demand section. So does it have a region code and I need to download it from the jp marketplace? If yes, can you play the jp version in english?

I believe you will be unable to buy/download any of the GOD titles unless your console is within Japanese territory because of the IP lock and Region lock.

Oh right, I forgot the GOD games are IP locked.

Still wondering if the game would play on my jp console if I download it from the euro marketplace?

If you get to buy and download it, it might just won't work anyway because of the region lock.

The best thing you could have done was getting a japanese Xbox 360 way back so you could have grabbed all the English Asian versions that work on Xbox 360, these are pretty rare now.

PAL-UK version Destiny works on a J360.



One thing to note though: patches for some stupid reason won't install if your active profile's region doesn't match the game disc region, so what you have to do is install the game but DON'T run it, log into a profile with a UK region, and boot the game from the UK region profile. If you don't do that, the game crashes and freezes the 360, forcing a hard reset. I'd assume new patches would require this method of installation as well.

That's really strange! I just tried that today and it didn't work on my Asian 360. Weirdly though, I have a PAL promo copy of AC Rogue that does work on my Asian 360. Same with Watch Dogs - PAL retail game does not work but I have a PAL promo copy that does.

By the way, am so glad I found this thread it's very useful so thanks to everyone that has contributed. I will work my way back through the posts when I get the chance and see if there are any games I can add to the list.
