That seems to be the plan. Of course it would be amazing if we got mp3s on top too (but then please in a higher rate that 128 kbps).Ikazu-san wrote:,Ooooh. Can we choose arranged soundtrack from options menu to play ingame? I mean, this should be necessary for entire thing to be called a DLC.

^ The plan is for the AST DLC to include both a lossless, standalone version of the album and a version that can be enabled and played via the ingame menu (like the existing soundtracks).
Re: Degica Community Outreach For Crimzon Clover
Fantastic! Thanks for the confirmation. Now we only need lossless audio files for the regular CC OST DLC.

Hardcore Gamer just put up a great review of Crimzon Clover! We pretty much already know everything about this game, but I am definitely happy to see positive media attention for it (and the genre in general).

I still wonder why yotsubane didn't up the render resolution for the new version.
Maybe it's because the models would look plasticy?
Anyways, excellent review for an excellent game!

Nice! Even after all this time the review showed up on Metacritic. You only need two more now, aim for that 90+.Blackbird wrote:Hardcore Gamer just put up a great review of Crimzon Clover! Blackbird, seeing that Trouble Witches AC was also published by Adventure Planning Service, and appeared on Nesica, i"m wondering whether Degica has considered bringing that game to Steam as well.
Re: Degica Community Outreach For Crimzon Clover
Our agreement to bring over CC has been specifically with Yotsubane, as far as I know (however that works). I actually haven't interacted with any APS folks so far. That is an interesting idea though.
Rock, Paper, Shotgun posted an interesting article about decline of arcades and the mild revival we've seen of shmups on PC. Crimzon Clover and a lot of other good games got a mention. Check it out:

The writing of that article is atrocious. Oh, wait, it's probably "poetry" and the new hip thing. Kind of fitting for a site as pretentious as RPS.
Re: Degica Community Outreach For Crimzon Clover
I wonder if the superplays will include yotsubane playing himself. That would be interesting. I haven't heard of a dev who can hold a WR for his own game.

Oh damn can't believe I missed that part of the thread. Thanks for pointing it out. I'm sometimes on Tapatalk and sometimes on desktop, so I must have skipped it.

Re: Degica Community Outreach For Crimzon Clover
Well, normally you don't have superplayers developing shmups, so this generalization might not apply to Yotsubane himself. You know who he is, right?mastermx wrote:I wonder if the superplays will include yotsubane playing himself. That would be interesting. I haven't heard of a dev who can hold a WR for his own game.
Re: Degica Community Outreach For Crimzon Clover
Yeah that's why I guessed he might be one of the superplayers. I'm not sure if he is still keeping his identity secret or not.

Re: Degica Community Outreach For Crimzon Clover
Crimzon Clover was just featured on TotalBiscuit's channel as the first of three videos in a "15 minutes of game" video, on the recommendation of slowbeef. He seems to like the game and thinks it would be a good introduction to anybody interested in Japanese bullet-hells. Good to see the game getting recommended by someone as well-known as TotalBiscuit!
Re: Degica Community Outreach For Crimzon Clover
Needless to say, we're pretty thrilled about this turn of events.
Re: Degica Community Outreach For Crimzon Clover
Just watched it. It was a pretty nice showcase. I liked that he seemed reasonably familiar with the genre, and played quite well too -- none of that flailing around aimlessly bs you sometimes see in "walkthroughs". Let's hope this gets CC some more sales. On that note: CC has probably sold more copies digitally than most physical Xbox 360 releases by now.
Re: Degica Community Outreach For Crimzon Clover
SDOJ sold about 10.000 copies.Bonus! wrote:On that note: CC has probably sold more copies digitally than most physical Xbox 360 releases by now.
I'm not quite sure what are the sales of CCWI, the more the better obviously, but i'm not conviced 100% of what you just said...

though i think it's a bit unfair that he skips the tutorial, and misses a very central mechanic because of it

Re: Degica Community Outreach For Crimzon Clover
He did double break at least once or twice, though he never really saved up for it as a more experienced player would.
Re: Degica Community Outreach For Crimzon Clover
The Steam leaderboards have over 5,000 entries; there might be one or two thousand people who haven't launched the game yet. Then there are sales from GOG. Last but not least, let's not forget about the Doujin release (the trial version was a commercial release as well, if I recall correctly), which seemed rather popular and might have sold a few thousand as well. Thus, I'd guesstimate that CC sold probably somewhere in the region of 8,000 to 13,000.-S.L- wrote:SDOJ sold about 10.000 copies.Bonus! wrote:On that note: CC has probably sold more copies digitally than most physical Xbox 360 releases by now.

Re: Degica Community Outreach For Crimzon Clover
That's great for CC. On the other hand, it's saddening that you have to, mostly, rely on hack reviewers like that one to spread the word on the game. Let's hope CC keeps getting more exposure so that it'll become a shibboleth among "gamers" like Ikaruga.Blackbird wrote:The snowball is real! Have we achieved critical mass for World Ignition?

(Not specifically Crimzon Clover/shmup related, but I don't want to spam up the forum with new threads.)
New game announcement: Degica is bringing Phantom Breaker: Battle Grounds to Steam. The game will launch on 1/23.
You can check out the preview page here: http://store.steampowered.com/app/329490
I'll be running a sneak preview event on our Twitch channel (http://www.twitch.tv/degigames) starting at 6PM today. Expect silly beat 'em up action with cute characters =D.

Oh, nice. That game is actually a lot better than people might expect. It's a lot of fun.
Is the Steins;Gate DLC coming out on PC, as well, or will that remain Vita-only?
Re: Degica Community Outreach For Crimzon Clover
We'll most likely bring out the Steins;Gate DLC pretty soon. Particularly since people are already going "Makise Kurisu or riot!" in the Steam forums and the game isn't even released yet, haha.

Re: Degica Community Outreach For Crimzon Clover
Wait, you guys are also publishing Steins;gate in the west? When do you plan on porting it to Steam?
Also about that Crimzon Clover arcade flyer, is it actually going to be sold as a DLC extra, or is it going to be a freebie?

Re: Degica Community Outreach For Crimzon Clover
Sorry, what I said above was confusing. We aren't currently working on Steins;Gate, the visual novel. What I meant above is that there is a DLC for a Steins;Gate guest character in Phantom Breaker that we'll probably be adding soon.
Regarding the arcade flyer, it will be paid DLC; if we release it standalone, I will look at a pretty low price point, but we could also consider bundling the posters together with the other Crimzon Clover DLC as well.

Re: Degica Community Outreach For Crimzon Clover
Just got the weird 57.1FPS bug tonight after playing for like 20 minutes. Hope this gets addressed. Seems nothing cures it but a restart of the PC.
