Shmup music composers.

Post by Rob »

I just need as many composers listed as you can. List game(s)/company affiliation if you can, just so I know it's worth putting down. 8)

Good topic. I'd love to know the music composers for all the Raizing games, myself (Manabu Namiki couldn't have done all of the soundtracks for Raizing...)

Anyway...

Manabu Namiki - Cave / Raizing

Yasuhisa Watanabe (Yack) - G.Rev

Hisayoshi Ogura (OGR) - Taito (worked on G.Darius, IIRC)

Tsukumo Hyakutaro - Technosoft

Plenty of info at Game Music Revolution

EDIT: A couple more from my collection:

Kenichiro Fukui - Square (Worked on Einhander)

Kukeiha Club - Konami (A group called Nazo2 Project performed the XEXEX Perfect Selection tracks)

Shinji Hosoe (part of Super Sweep) - Cave / G.Rev (Usually does remixes of original tracks for OST collections)

Odd, I have Masahiro Kusunoki for this (arcade version staff list).

Toaplan:

Tatsuya Uemura - Tiger Heli, Sky/Flying Shark (Stages 2-4), Kyukyoku Tiger/Twin Cobra (stages 2, 4, 7, 9), Hell Fire, Zero Wing (Stages 1,3,5,7, high score, and continue themes), Out Zone, Dogyuun.

M(asahiro*) Yuge - Slap Fight, Sky/Flying Shark (all except Stages 2-4), Kyukyoku Tiger (stages 1,3,5,6,8,10, landing, and high score music), Tatsujin/Truxton, Fire Shark/Same!Same!Same!, Zero Wing (Stage 4), Tatsujin Ou/Truxton 2, GrindStormer/V-V.

Toshiaki Tomizawa - Zero Wing (Stages 2, 6, 8, and game over music), Vimana, FixEight.

太田理 I've seen translated as Osamu Ohta, don't know for certain - Rally Bike, Wardner, Snow Bros, Daisenpu/Twin Hawk

Yoshitatsu Sakai (the 3rd) - Batsugun. Later did the Air Gallet soundtrack at Gazelle.

*Roman character spelling from Kyukyoku Tiger 2 OST liner notes.

Hmmm... I was absolutely certain that Namiki was involved in both Souky (listen to stage 1 BGM, typical Manabu Namiki stuff) and Dimahoo. Are you sure he wasn't?

Soukyugurentai: Namiki is credited for sound effects, Sakimoto for music. It's possible Namiki did a song or collaborated on one, even if he didn't take credit.
Dimahoo: please read second name :)

Pleeease put the composer first, game second (for ease of input on the master list).

Was it D1 or is that a different game? I remember that was one of the first PS games I played.

GREAT composer, probably one of my favorites ever, of any kind.

Did he do all of Wolf Team's games? Or just Sol-Deace/Feace and El Viento?

That's one of the composers I had already listed myself. He's done soundtracks for much bigger productions, like Tri-Ace RPGs, but Sol-Deace is clearly his crown jewel.

Yeah I have a lot of his RPG soundtracks. Wish I could have gone to the live concert he did a year and a half ago.

I have no idea what 'D1' is, but Tunnel B1 was a sort of FPS where you controled this hovertank/spaceship thing zooming down, well, tunnels. Very much WipEout style graphics. The first PS1 game I played, and I loved it. You can pick it up dirt cheap nowadays too.

Super Sweep also were the main folks behind the Ibara OST.

I think they also made the DDPDOJ/ESPGaluda arrange album as well.
