Harmful Park

Post by lawnspic »

Just noticed this game was not in the data base, for those interested it is an awesome side scroller like parodius (cutesy, set in a zoo) and was released for Ps1 in Japan. This game is very rare now and gets a good penny on ebay almost as much as RS. Highly reccomend

I think most people here already know about about this game, it's actually sort of a shmups forum favorite.

Got mine a couple of months ago, and it's my favorite PS1 shooter next to Einhänder. :)

Actually, it is mentioned in the "Xenocide Files" on the main site, though there's no description for it.

It is on the pricey side, but there are some here who have found it for a pretty good price...I thought getting a copy for 70 was a good deal, but others have supposedly done so for almost half that much (I forget exactly who though).

For the record, it's one of my favorites too. :)

Thats what i meant to say, there is no description in the archive. Just thought that was weird for such a great game not having a review or anything. If you can pick up a copy of HP for under 50 thats good, last i saw people were asking 100+. Most i saw was 150.00

If you haven't seen it yet, there is a review of the game at the following link:

The guy tends to love the games he reviews a bit too much, imo, but he at least covers most of the basics.

Yeah, I place this among the top five PS1 shooters, along with Raiden DX, Toaplan Shooting Battle v.1, Zanac Neo, and Gradius Gaiden. It has great graphics, music, and the difficulty is nice, provided you don't play the default setting, which is Easy.

I picked mine up a week back for about $60 without spine card, otherwise excellent condition.

Absolutely lovely looker with some huge sprites and loads of animation. It's a bit short & rather easy though.

It's great that they put in the extra effort for the score attack (which is quite nuts, I didnt think the PS had that much 2D in it) and mini games.

You guys got good deals: I think I paid around 70 or 75 british pounds, and the exchange rate was not favorable. Don't regret it at all, though.

There's not much demand for the game nowadays. Wait for an actual auction and you can get it from $55-85, roughly the price range during the last year.
