A new release put out on a friends label called Balance came out on Friday. Downtempo and Ambient with a nice Ambient Techno remix to end it from Coppice Halifax. This is really a love letter to the Japanese Electronic Music scene as far as downtempo and chillout stuff goes. Took a whopping 4 years to complete and is supported by Hiroshi Watanabe (Aka Kaito and Tread if people know him better as those). I'm impressed that something that started out as just a little Ep to go with the track Night Warmth turned into a full album.

Actually recorded something last night. Just jamming out and got a good thing going and hit record. 2 gameboys running nanoloop, 1 going into my modular through a filter and delay module carrying drum and bass duties, the other just doing the dub plink running into my monomachine reverb and modulated delay. Lots of modulation going on, lots of manual tweaking of the delay module

My brother and i have started composing some new material which we'll record shortly and recorded some jam sessions as well.
This came out of a freely improvised session wherein we slid into a two chord progression and i played a solo that i thought turned out pretty well.
Don't really know why i'm posting this. I guess i'd just like some feedback on my playing or something like that.

I really liked this one; it's hard to describe but it feels like a nice vintage hard/grungy rock song you'd listen to at the turn of the century. As my comment on the page says, a little work on the drums is needed. Some proper mix work can give them a little more force and presence and general volume mixing/panning to make sure various instruments don't overwhelm each other. Great work though.

First new track in forever. Short (and sweet?). I'd love to hear some feedback from the musically-knowledgeable. I was sort of inspired by the Valis games of all things. Or at least the -idea- of the Valis games.

The piano on this track sounds better on my headphones than my computers middling/ok-ish speakers. Not sure which to trust. I make music with my headphones so I mix around that.

Impressive. I was thinking how competently soundtrack-y it was before I noticed the 'OST' in the track title. I've never played Valis, but it definitely feels as if it belongs somewhere in an epic story. I like the subtle drum shuffle and the overall track progression. And the piano sounds fine on my super-crappy earbuds.

I utilized some field recordings I made at a skate park last year. Using found sounds is something I've wanted to do for a while. Still pretty basic usage at this point, but I think it gives the track a nice sense of place.

(I started a new soundcloud account cuz I got tired of having hundreds of 'followers' and only getting a handful of plays. At least now the two numbers should more closely match each other.)

Great track you have here. It is a remix, the mp3 I linked. He's released on Kompakt as Kaito. The original album is linked in the thread. I'm really stoaked about the remix album. Is sounding good.

Pirates causing the closing of the second label that gave me my first cd release, but that's besides the point. Been in a slump, recently. Trying to get out of it by forcing myself into either program every day or so. At the very least, I've come up with some nice sound effects in Reason!
