Well this is some good news. Hoping that game is actually localized this time.

Re: Puzzle & Dragons
I don't even know how a Super Mario Puzzle & Dragons game even works, like, at all. There aren't enough interesting things/characters in the Mario universe to support a game like Puzzle & Dragons. Also, story mode? I can't get my head around this. Seems like maybe it will just be an offshoot Mario RPG with a P&D style battle system instead of being the full-blown team composition management game that Puzzle & Dragons proper is.
Re: Puzzle & Dragons
I agree that it's a lousy theme for the genre. Mechanically it's trivial to whip up 200 variations of cheap-cheaps, goombas, hammer bros, turtles, squidos, and other existing canon characters. There's an infinite number of things goombas and Waluigi can cosplay as, for example.
Thematically though, is it as exciting as dragons! and gods and boobs and such? This is already the highest grossing game in existence that shall ever be; it's mostly a sneaky ploy to brainwash the young folk into joining the cult. Genius, in a way.

Bah humbug! Star Vault tonight!

Re: Puzzle & Dragons
Yeah, and I missed it on both accounts because I was too busy doing other things.

Missed it, what was that ?Necronopticous wrote:Bah humbug! Star Vault tonight!
In a general way, I seem to miss all special events presented in the news. Is that because they have limite time only ? Or I do not have progressed enough in the normal dungeon ? Or my rank is not high enough at 37 ?

Every day there is a selection of 2-4 dungeons that appear for an hour each time, like various metal dragon dungeons and the less-common Star Vault, so they are easy to miss if you are not on top of things. If you are using a site like Puzzle & Dragons Database, ensure that the schedule is set to the correct time zone and you are looking at the correct schedule for your group.
Also, dungeons will not be listed under the Special Dungeons menu if you cannot meet the minimum Stamina requirement to enter them.
Re: Puzzle & Dragons
Unfortunately, I am still looking for a database for group related special EU-server events, for example "Super King Metal Dragons", "Evo Rush" or "Pengdra Village"... P&D DB, only displays big weekly events but no group related stuff. Any ideas?Aisha wrote:If you are using a site like Puzzle & Dragons Database, ensure that the schedule is set to the correct time zone and you are looking at the correct schedule for your group.
The iOS app "PadGuide" also lacks the EU servers....

Re: Puzzle & Dragons
Definitely not ready for beating Extreme King Metal Dragon !
I rolled all my stones on the today Godfest and got :
- Odin
- Angelious
- Dryad (meeeh)
- Ur Chimera
Luck or not ?
Now I wonder how attack multiplication works in this game :
- When I play with two Red Sky Wizard Chester (Fire, Dragon type, both gives 2.5 x ATK for fire attack), my fire attacks are only mutliplied by 2.5 ; at least it seems to me.
- When I play with one Red Sky Wizard Chester and one Anima (Fire, gives 3 x ATK for Dragons), my attacks are actually mutliplied by 7.5.
Any explanations ?

Re: Puzzle & Dragons
Sounds like about average luck on the Rare Egg Machine. Odin is a special god that can only be rolled during godfests, and is quite powerful, especially to newer players. I'm assuming you got green Odin? There are also blue and red versions, but they are more rare.
Don't be down on Dryad. She doesn't look like much now, but she actually has an incredible ultimate form which is good as a leader or a sub:
http://www.puzzledragonx.com/en/monster.asp?n=1102
Attack/HP/RCV bonuses in leader and friend leader skills are, indeed, multiplicative. Because of this, in general, most players are always using the same or similar leaders to jack up their stats. In later dungeons, it's practically necessary to have a high attack multiplier because the HP and defense of the enemies are clearly tuned to expect such.

Re: Puzzle & Dragons
I got blue Odin, so kind of lucky I think.
Yay about the Dryad finally, but it shall take a lot of time to power her up to Creation Tree Spirit, Alraune.
About multiplication, I clearly saw that dungeons now require to have lot of attack, achieved by multiplication.
But how comes that when I play two Chester, one mine and one friend, both Fire attribute cards ATK x2.5, I only get ATK x2.5 and not ATK x6.25 ?
EDIT : oh, and another question. When a monster has two colors, it seems that the second color (bottom right one) is way less powerful than the first. Is there a formula for this ?
And what about monster that has two identical colors as my new angelious http://www.puzzledragonx.com/en/monster.asp?n=1127 ?

Re: Puzzle & Dragons
Super lucky. He's an amazing card, godfest exclusive, and as rare as they come. I'm still trying to roll him.guigui wrote:I got blue Odin, so kind of lucky I think.
You should be hitting 6.25x. The only explanation I can think of was that you were playing with someone's leader who you hadn't friended yet--in that case, their leader skill is not active.guigui wrote:But how comes that when I play two Chester, one mine and one friend, both Fire attribute cards ATK x2.5, I only get ATK x2.5 and not ATK x6.25 ?
The second attribute attacks for 1/3 the ATK stat of the card that it is on. It functions the same way with identical colors: when activated that monster will make two attacks, one at 100% power and one at 30% power. In general, you can just think of it as a 30% damage boost to the card, unless you're fighting things with notable defense that must be broken before damage can be done. But speaking of defense, one nice thing about having lots of cards with dual attribute means you can chip high defense low HP cards down much more easily since that's an extra 1 point of damage per activated attribute.guigui wrote:EDIT : oh, and another question. Re: Puzzle & Dragons
I have a Blue Odin on my main account, but haven't really developed him much due to lack of a proper team to use him on (Andromeda is probably my best bet, but I'm about 1-2 subs short of a proper team for her.) The Red Odin I have on my alt account is one of my mainstay subs, and I'm currently working on getting him to +297.
Re: Puzzle & Dragons
Thanks for the comprehensive answers. I'll double check, maybe I go x6.25 with two Chester's. It is kind of hard to determine actually.
+297 is the max you can achieve via +eggs ?

Re: Puzzle & Dragons
Yes. That's +99 of each stat. There's a term "hypermax" you might hear thrown around in the P&D community which means having a card maxed out in every aspect. Currently this means max level, max skill, fully awakened, and +297. Here's an example:guigui wrote:+297 is the max you can achieve via +eggs ?

Re: Puzzle & Dragons
So, I seem to have hit a wall here.
Currently at Tower Of Flare, my main leader is Red Sky Wizard Chester who I sub with various reds (red knight, red keeper) and mostly Forest Pixie, Alraune.
Other major cards I have is Blue Odin, Water Wizard Sharon and Angelious.
I fond the difficulty curve to be awkward : either the dungeon is way too easy and does not bring me anything valuable, either it is wayyyyy too hard (one shot by evo mask ?!) and I just cannot handle it.
Also, my mains are really hard to evolve further because I miss materials and those dragons dungeons at the moment dont help me much.
I have no stones to run the golden Russian Roulette
Any help ? What should I focus on ? How to increase (drastically) my damage output and/or HP/resistance ?
I like this game and would like to keep playing it, but its appeal decreases due to the difficulty. And, also, One Finger Death Punch IS good.

Re: Puzzle & Dragons
Out of what you describe, I'd focus on Blue Odin as a lead. Get him evolved, get him some Tamadras for awakenings, and his row enhance will help increase your damage output. If possible, get some blue orb changers to help out (Berserk/Siegfried is the most obvious farmable choice, but you're still a fair bit away from the dungeon where he drops.) Really these days awakenings are a big part of what defines characters, so you want to get those as soon as possible. Ultimately I think you'll want better leads, but that should get you through the tier 5 dungeons. In the meantime, Sharon is probably going to be your primary orb changer sub.

Re: Puzzle & Dragons
What evo materials are you missing? You should be able to get them at your current level with a solid plan (or good Pal Egg rolls during event weeks). Also, what rank are you currently? Seems like you're about the right level to be powering your rank up with Dragons of the Tower over the weekends, which should help you a lot. It's normal to get stuck in one dungeon branch for awhile. That is your cue to develop your team with previously defeated dungeons, and planning specific team configurations to tackle weeklies/specials. You have some solid cards, so you don't have to worry much about rolling the REM. Maybe save your stones and roll once or twice per Godfest.

You're right, I'll try to build a blue Odin team.Vexorg wrote:Out of what you describe, I'd focus on Blue Odin as a lead. His row enhance ability is that good ? I thought matching a full blue row for only +10% damage was a bit weak...
I have lots of pengdras, but no dragon seed/plant to evolve them before feeding them. I also miss those stronger mask, they one shot me whenever I encounter them.Necronopticous wrote:What evo materials are you missing?

What do you call a "solid plan" to get evo material ?
I did roll the Pal Egg Machine during an event for 10 eggs, and got 7 golden eggs, most 6 stars rare : rainbow keeper, dub mythlit and such. Was that lucky ?
Rank is about 35 atm. Why should I go for Dragons of the Tower on the weekend ?Necro who stopped playing Darkest Dungeon to answer me wrote: Also, what rank are you currently? Thanks to both of you for the help, I'll spend some more time on the game and see what comes out of it.

Re: Puzzle & Dragons
I downloaded this on a whim saturday thinking it would occupy me for about 20 minutes or so before I deleted it.
I was wrong. I can't stop playing this.
I still have almost no knowledge of this game, although I'm currently working through Sea Cave mercury, and I managed to obtain Loyal Deity Guan Yu from the rare egg machine.
Right now my team is being led by Snow White (I obtained her from the tutorial rare egg machine), with the remainder of it consisting of my 3rd stage evolution water starter, a harpie demon I got from a pal egg machine pull, and two situational slots (basically either a topaz carbuncle or some random dungeon dropped monsters relevant to the current dungeon's elemental weakness). Pretty much everyone on my friend list consists of random people who friend requested me with rare gods, along with some people from the #Pazudora irc channel: basically this made the previous dungeons I've done much easier than they should have been.
However in the cave of neptune things are starting to get a bit more difficult for me, as it's much harder to deal damage and the enemies are hitting harder. Problem is I'm not really sure how to optimize my team...

Re: Puzzle & Dragons
Well, the row enhances are cumulative, and Blue Odin has three (plus three skill boosts, which bring your active skills up quicker at the start of the dungeon.) You'll find that a lot of teams focus on getting as many row enhances of one color as possible (this is especially prevalent with Sonia teams or monocolor teams, although for the most part mono teams have been overshadowed by other things these days.) Laila also has a two-prong awakening, which means that if you make matches of exactly 4 orbs you will attack two enemies at once at 1.5x your normal attack, which becomes especially powerful when you start getting stuff with multiple two-prong attacks. One of my main teams is a Green Zhuge Liang team. GZLs have double two-prong attacks plus 4x ATK to all wood types when under 80% HP. Combining two GZL leads for 16x, plus 2.25x for double two-prong attacks means they can hit for a whopping 36x. The game has even started adding a number of triple two-prong awakenings to a few monsters (right now I think it's Awoken Hinokagutsuchi, Chibi Valkyrie and the upcoming UEvo form of Liu Bei) which will make things even more ridiculous.
It's something of a high-risk-high-reward strategy, but even on lower level teams the two-prongs can be good for a damage boost, probably even more than the row enhances if you have a team focused on them.
