Xrgb2 plus
I'm using it with a Jamma board (dance dance revolution) on a dell u2410 and I get a pulsating/shaking image. It's not massive but enough to be annoying. I've tried all the tweaks like adjusting the DCT in the menu and pixel clock and phase but the image still shakes slightly. Is this a problem isolated to the xrgb2+ or do the other linedoubler have this problem too? Also any way to fix it completely?

Re: Xrgb2 plus
With DDR being from the late 90s, it's probably running in 480i (interlaced). The XRGB1/2/2+/3 all use a fast deinterlacing mode which only uses a single field at a time. This causes a certain tremble (or shaking), especially on all horizontal lines. Maybe that's what you're seeing ?
For FAST deinterlacing that's the only method there is. Slower methods which use two or more fields will give you a steady picture, but for a game like DDR the lag involved isn't exactly a good trade-off.

Maybe try more options in Super Mode, don't know which ones nor if those will be of any help... but here's the access code;
Unfortunately the 2 Plus, like the 3, isn't very arcade board-friendly, whatever you do.Unplug the unit for 10 seconds, plug the AC adaptor back in, press select+menu once then...

Thank you guys very much for the replies! That's really helpful. I'll try supermode but good to know the truth about these devices. I guess the only really fool proof way is to use a CRT...the problem is they're so bulky!!

Are there and easily available flat screen displays that accept (and output normally) a 15khz rob signal? Or is a CRT the only real option here?

Re: Xrgb2 plus
Monitors USUALLY don't, TVs always do, but the signal always get scan converted internally and on TVs this takes considerably longer than using a XRGB.

That's exactly right. I've heard that DDR 5th-extreme runs in 480i during menus and 240i during gameplay.Fudoh wrote:With DDR being from the late 90s, it's probably running in 480i (interlaced). Only way to get a perfect image is with a CRT.

I can confirm with my US version of Konamix, that many of the PS1 DDR games have a habit of switching from 480i for menus/credits to/from 240p for gameplay. In fact, I remember all of the Playstation hardware-based DDR games actually using that feature when running on a standard-res monitor.
