Very high level DOJ WL first loop reference video. My channel has always been almost exclusively shooting game related, I don't upload often though.

My 107 mil run in Progear, I make it up to Kraken in 2-4 in this play through. And it looks so much better in 60 fps. I'm having my other uploads processed again so hopefully those will be in 60 fps soon! :D

This is absolutely bizarre. I love it. I guess you did survive (???) blowing up the Earth's core in RayForce, LOL.

progear looks ridiculous for score (and survival in the 2nd loop too), good job
what's your target score anyways?

She's not the blonde! (Japanese actress, I know...)

I'm thinking it's player 2. The character is named "F04" in the credits, and the F03 board is what Rayforce runs on...

R.I.P., F03.

...Maybe her chip brain is still around out there. :)

Thanks!

Honestly, I'm not too sure yet. The ALL is next by far, anything that happens in between is all fun. If I can consistently hit an ALL I'll have a better idea what targets I can start gearing in on, only because this game can jump in score drastically especially with survival scores/stage bonus (x2)/end bonus.

I randomly stumbled across a little documentary thing about Touhou Project on NHK World today (in English), looks like someone already got it up on youtube:

ZAP overflowed stage 3 in Saidaioujou with A-EX: http://www.nicovideo.jp/watch/sm25264632

I think he may be the most skilled played in the world at the moment. The guy has done some obscene stuff over the last five years or so.

edit: Another guy posted a slightly higher scoring stage 3 overflow with B-EX: http://www.nicovideo.jp/watch/sm25263996

I want to say they must be getting close to maxing this game out, but they'll probably keep finding some utterly insane optimizations for a while.

Goddamn, that is absolutely insane dodging on the midboss. Can't wait to see them eventually get overflows in every stage in the game (except maybe stage 1). You know it's going to happen at this point ..

you need cancels in a stage in order to get high level hypers
stage 2 is too short(and doesn't have any cancels anyways IIRC) and stage 4 has absolutely no cancels so it's worthless, and the only way to get loads of big stars in order to recharge is a cancel during a hyper

1.5 makes it so that you get big stars from everything during a high lv hyper(and easier to refill hyper with stars in general) so you can recharge just by delaying a group of enemies just before you run out and play the whole game like that

honestly i'm surprised people still play sdoj for score, 1.0 is a complete fuckup in terms of scoring mechanics not even counting the overflow(though not as bad as futari 1.0 maniac), 1.5 was clearly meant to be the "definite" version rather than a silly arrange and it never made it to the arcades because cave went bankrupt and on top of that it's stuck in a shitty port with input delay so almost no one will take it seriously

good job on figuring out the overflow though

Well, luckily Samidare's practice mode keeps track of how many times you've played so I can give you close to exact numbers on it, although it doesn't count how many times you play the normal mode, but I used the practice mode a lot more except for for the first stage. The other number, if you're wondering, is number of lives which goes up or down depending on how many times you die.

If I remember correctly in the bottom right, there are three timers as well. One records current session time, the second records total gameplay time, and the third records overall game running time.

'grats on the 1CC by the way! Samidare may only be a 10-minute STG, but it's such a simple game that always has me coming back for more. I've spent waaaaaay more time than I would like to admit on the game. Learning how to score on certain segments is especially addictive. Be sure to try and learn the Extra because it has a much higher score skill-ceiling than the normal game.

you get barely any gems to begin with and the gauge goes up only on kill, not on hit - so on bosses you can pretty much only spend gems, not gain them, not to mention it makes killing cancel enemies for big gems really hard, not counting the issues with 1.0 in general

try it in mame if you want and laugh, it's amazing how stuff like dfk 1.0 and futari 1.0 made it past quality control all the way to the arcades

Revolver360 RE:ACTOR 3min Score Attack: 944mil, 2-miss

The japanese players will probably beat me to 1 billion, but I think this is a solid run for the routes I have at the moment.
Really fun score attack mode, there's a ton of tricks and difficult patterns crammed into a few minutes.

Oh, I see, well I don't know how long it was 'til the first 1cc, but now it's been around 21 hours. Thanks for the info :)
Samidare is pretty fun. I definitely hope to move on to extra at some point, but I don't know when. It looks intense (which is, of course, a good thing  ).

Shameless self promotions
Almost full clear of second easiest loop of ChoRenSha 68k. Half the suicide bullets fly up but you still get score from them.
In the end died to Black heart attack.

A clear of the 14/12/05 demo of PlatineDispositif's _____ with 5300844 score. Due to the different font/language used for letters and numbers, people don't know the name of the game, and refer to it as that. I think the full version was at Comiket 87, and the demo is available at PlatineDispositif's site, but you may need a proxy to get past the half-blocking of those outside Japan.

I've had a better run (I think I've beaten the last boss of the demo without timeout once), but for some reason, the game (or at least demo) lacks replay functionality, and I didn't get my best on video.

By the way, is that Akai Katana Shin video yours or did you download it from the leaderboard? It's incredibly close to SIN's score.
