Hi guys just a little info, lots of people seem to be buying this clone
http://www.ebay.com/itm/NEW-SCART-RGB-t ... 337dfa167b
this model uses a 12v power supply and runs hot as hell and also uses cheap caps and components all around.
I recently purchased this model when the above failed.
http://www.ebay.com/itm/251203158378?_t ... EBIDX%3AIT
this model is a little more expensive but the board is marked csy-2100 and it uses a 7.5 volt power supply runs cold as ice and uses high quality metal caps all around.
Here are pics of what this model looks like inside

I expect the life expectancy will be a lot higher. I modded mine as soon as I received it for analog audio output.
None of these units have a low pass filter. I am wondering if there is such thing as an external low pass filter as I would like to remove the vertical jail bars on the n64.
The xrgb3 low pass filter works wonders but the transcoders seem to look like the xrgb-3 with the low pass filter not enabled.

Re: scart to component transcoder
I have the first, has been really good to me thus far. Curiously, mine doesnt run hot at all, its just a little warm to the touch if you wrap your hands around it.
Im using one of those breakout adapters to pull the audio out to RCA jacks. One thing I do notice, is when I plug a new SCART in (I dont have a switch), I have to physically fiddle with the SCART connector of the system and the audio breakout connector to get the right colors. The connections seem a bit fiddly, not sure if thats the fault of any one component or just SCART connectors in general.
In any case, if mine ever fails I'll def give that other one a go...

Yeah, I don't like the clone. It's colors were off.
I prefer the CSY 2100.

The colors in most of the clones are off because the default values on the pots aren't correct for the signal. Took a few minutes rotating them to get the color spot on on both of my clones.evil_ash_xero wrote:Yeah, I don't like the clone. It's colors were off.

Did the same with mine, but it was basically spot on out of the box.

I've heard that, but I've heard that some people still can't get the whites right.
I try to avoid clones. The CSYs are kind of on the expensive side though.
And I wouldn't even know where to being going about adjusting things.

Adjusting them is cake. Just rotate the pots with a small jewelers screwdriver while a known image is on the screen. I used the fair in the beginning of Chrono Trigger because it's colorful and I know what it's supposed to look like by heart.evil_ash_xero wrote:Einzelherz wrote:The colors in most of the clones are off because the default values on the pots aren't correct for the signal. The first couple of minutes of this explains it (i used this video) https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yYN906grLsM
Only a couple of the pots actually change the colors, and IIRC he mentions which those are in the video.

But....it's too late for me. I'm swamped in CSY 2100s!
