Non-Shmup game related desktop wallpapers

Post by SteevTee »

Check this Final Fantasy VII wallpaper I finished literally minutes ago: http://www.st-web.co.uk/FFVIIST.jpg (sorry if this seems like a shameless plug of my desktop wallpaper... it is)

Anyway, after a look at some of the desktop wallpapers here: http://forum.shmups.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=6452, I was wondering what are the non-shmup-game wallpapers people here use...

I usually just go for some of the funkier tech-abstract 3d stuff from deviantart or the like, or some nice photography. It depends. I rarely have any type of game/character related wallpaper, although I was rockin' a Mushi one for a while.

Dunno if you meant just nonshump or nongame or both so here's mine. It's neither. It's my dog Marco slowly scaling his way down a wicked dirt/sand/rock cliff on the Oregon coast. That dog rules!

Hey extrarice! I wanna spruce up my desktop with a calendar, weather thing etc, just like you. How do I do it? I'm running 10.3.9 if that means anything.

Thank you in advance :)

Konfabulator (now Yahoo! Widgets). It's almost exactly like Apple's Dashboard in 10.4 (the back-end is a little different so the widgets aren't compatable).

It's easy to write your own widgets, too - a combination of Javascript for the logic and XML for the layout.

And, Yahoo! Widgets works on Windows, too.

^^^That's pretty nice! The first image is unmistakeably Roger Dean's artwork (70's band Yes, 80's band Asia, Shadow of the Beast series, etc.). The second looks much like his style, but I haven't seen it before. Which game is that from?

That Psyclapse logo brings back memories. What relationship did they have with Psygnosis? The typeface is identical, and the Psyclapse logo was red, as opposed to the purple Psyg one.

Yeah I hear that. Not being able to ride sucks big time, only a month or two left here.
What more can I say I wouldn't be here today if the old school didn't pave the way.

Well I might as well stick in my xbox 360 wallpaper in here too. I don't have an HDTV, so this is on the 32" SDTV with a crap camera. It looks better than it does in the picture....honest.
Anyway it's an illustration from the Ibara and Mushihime-sama artist Tomoyuki Kotani.
