That is absolutely beautiful. I've never seen a 1-3 full chain done in WL before.

*suddenly inspired to try DOJWL again*

DOJ is my favorite Cave shooter by far and I do fairly well at it (for me). I've put far more hours into WL than BL for whatever reason though.

So I felt pretty confident going into SDOJ but damn, that game kicks my ass all over the place. I've been trying off and on to love it as much as I do DOJ but I find it pretty frustrating. I can't even consistently no-miss the freaking stage 2 boss.

I can't even do the same for stage 1 on daioujou white label. Although black label I perfected stages 1 and 2 on my first try so that's weird. It's okay. I'm just going to hide under the excuse that the only 1cc's i have are some touhou easy modes and bug princess(for IOS) orignial novice mode and novice maniac mode so it's to hard for me.

You really need to plan out a run where you place bombs (pre-bomb spots you know you can't dodge) and skip some pickups (because they lead to rank increasing faster) / use minimal hypers in early stages in a way that controls rank. Even then it's hard as hell to clear but that is what you need to aim for if you want your first clear and you aren't a stg badass. Anyway if you watch my clear of it on youtube and really pay attention to how/where I control rank it will show you probably the easiest way to get your first clear (one of them).

gah i'm starting to go from finding daioujou white label okay but would be fun if it wasn't for it's really hard difficulty to starting to hate this game because of it's difficulty. I know what the scoring system is but i'm not sure how to "do" it per say. Got any tips?

I really want to like this game but its difficulty is keeping me so tips would be appreciated.

Playing it for score is just going to make it 10X harder. Just play the black label version for survival if you suck at it.

I've only ever played WL. Is BL really that much easier? I heard that the difference in rank wasn't that noticeable if you weren't going for the second loop. But this thread seems to suggest otherwise.

The first loop on it is better balanced and slightly less brutal at times. It's not way easier.

I just saw a replay of Mushihimesama 1.5 Ultra (Max mode) and this looks absolute insane to me. The screen is mostly just purple, filled with hundrets of bullets. Could that maybe be the hardest to clear?

Pinksweets has a shield and unlimited bombs, must be the easiest cave game.

So those v1.01 revisions on the MMP/PS port, how much easier do they make the games?

I've heard that because the rank rises much slower in v1.01 along with lower enemy health, it makes PS easier to clear. That's probably because in v1.00 of PS, most players use the Multiply Mode glitch to beat the game.

Pink Sweets is still very hard on 1.01. There's not much of a difference of how far I got on 1.00 or 1.01.

Now as for Muchi Muchi Pork, the big changes are

looping requirement is changed from 1LC to 1CC.

you get more lard shot from your meter allowing for more medals.

You actually get score extends in loop 2. Version 1.00 has a bug where you get the first score extend in loop 2 then don't get any more(this is definitely a bug because it even carried over to other credits after a looping run in the PCB which required restarting the PCB to fix it again). The port does keep the behavior since if you go to training in the port, you will get 1 score extend on a loop 2 stage if 1.00 is set, then if you meet another score extend requirement in the training stage run, you won't get it.

The extra medals from lard shot means more score, so it's a little easier to get score extends. The power from lard shot helps too for survival.

It doesn't change the difficulty of a 1-All too much, but a 2-All is way easier in 1.01. Version 1.00 2-All is one of the hardest Cave clears one could possibly go for while a 1.01 2-All is a reasonable and pretty fun challenge.

So easy in fact Mr. Yagawa even included a harder mode since the 1st loop is a piece of cake.
