You know, I never see anyone out and about playing with those silly drones.
The only place I ever see them being used is at Brookstone stores in the various malls around here.

At least robo will probably just kill people instead of anally raping them with help from his pal sniffer dog.

Well, first, prepare yourself for Ineffectual Guardian Of The Peace K5! Apparently it rolls over to you and hums a song in the hopes you will feel guilty and curl up into a ball while it summons the real police.

Of course the next step will be Faceless Konami Man Horror. Stay Calm, and remember to stay properly sedated.

Or else we'll send the birds.

Installing Windows freeware.

"Thank you for installing $SCREEN_RECORDER_UTILITY 2014."
"Would you like to install $BULLSHIT_TOOLBAR1?" no
"Would you like to install $BULLSHIT_TOOLBAR2?" no
"How about a trial version of $PAID_PRODUCT_WE_WROTE?" this one isn't nearly so bad, but it's still annoying
"Would you like to change your search provider to $LITERALLY_WHO?" god damnit, why would anyone ever want this

I know it's how they make their money, by sponsoring bullshit; but fuck! It's so slimy and deceptive. Pretty much anyone in my family would have clicked yes past those without unchecking the boxes.

Oh god, masochistic curiosity got the best of me and I decided to listen to HG101's "Gameclub 199X" on System Shock, since it's one of my favorite games. Jesus fucking christ, these guys are the worst. I feel like I'm standing in line at goddamn Gamestop.

I recently had to deal with a Win 8.1 desktop that got knackered because somebody clicked an ad that said "DOWNLOAD NAO!!1" instead of the actual download link. (Remember kids & elders, always go to the project main site for FLOSS, not some random download site.) Horrible and there were some stealthy "browser helper" objects occasionally trying to open ads on already blocked websites and just slowing everything down, which I couldn't have found and blasted without MalwareBytes.

Man, I can't wait until freeware checkboxes start switching the order up. "Would you like to install this? [Yes] / no. Would you like to install that? [No] / yes." I've already seen something close happen.

I forget what it was, but I have seen an installer do that. Predatory as fuck.

More specifically, my cats wrecking my Christmas tree every time I leave them alone with it for five minutes. Seriously considering just giving up on the bloody thing.

I actually mentioned my family because I had to clean up some of their machines because they did this shit. A few aunts and cousins I was visiting, and they asked me for help.
universally, they'd have an expired Norton, too

And dear lord, I'd probably be pissed as all fuck if they did something as scummy as a checkbox that said "[ ] Don't install $BROWSER_SLOW_TOOLBAR" or the like right next to one that said "[ ] Install $OTHER_TOOLBAR".

of course, at that point, the installer probably installed both anyway, no matter what you click

So tired of raunchy 'comedy'. It was funny 10 years ago when it was uncommon for a celebrity to go all out on the toilet humor, but now it's just gotten ridiculous. Kate Micucci would otherwise be a great personality if she wasn't regulated to skits which are just Riki Lindholm's dumbass socio-political statements disguised as humor. Garfunkel & Oates sucks. Sarah Silverman sucks. Amy Schumer sucks.

Did Richard Pryor have to sing songs about getting F'd in the A' to make people laugh? As funny as modern female comedians can be it only seems to last as long as the shock value is fresh. After about five minutes hearing what they do with their private parts just gets gross. Have some class.

Chrome doesn't want to actually open, and it gives zero indication why. It tries to start, and then I need to kill it in the task manager because nothing is happening. Chrome's been doing a lot of weird bullshit, and I'm wondering if there's some extension or something acting up.

The console updates themselves weren't too bad. I just wanted to try the DEMO of destiny and I've now been waiting over an hour. How stupid is that?

This is why I stopped buying consoles after the PS2 era. When the damn thing requires as much maintenance as a computer, why not just get a computer?
Two working class dudes, one black one white, just baked a tray of ten cookies together.

An oligarch walks in and grabs nine cookies for himself.

Then he says to the white dude "Watch out for that black dude, he wants a piece of your cookie!"

I get your point, but it's overstated. Requiring the occasional auto-update is far less maintenance than a computer. PC gaming today requires a lot of patience, especially with new games. Far Cry 4 on PC took weeks of patches before I could even load past a black screen that went nowhere.

It is very, very discouraging to play games when you have to update something every time you turn on your system. My PS3 has been unplugged & collecting dust for months now. Was gonna get those Fist Of The North Star games soon though.

Oh, we have to buy a shrinkwrapped antivirus, because the people at the store promoted it and said it was free. t_t
Instead of just saying "no thanks, keep it" and just defaulting to Defender (you don't even need to explicitly install it anymore).

This reminds me, [url=https://www.gnu.org/philosophy/open-sou ... point.html]here's[/urls] Richard Stallman missing the boat, IMO, by claiming that
“Free” and “open” are rivals for mindshare.
Well Dick, most people want free, in the common-sense of the word. Just by being there Open Sores (as our hero JEFFK puts it) made an impact, but trying to push the argument onto people whose software admittedly serves a totally different goal - think some indie game maker releasing free but not open software - doesn't particularly make sense to me. Open is simply distinct from free. It makes it clear that there is something new and exciting about a standard (should we have called them Free Standards instead?) Saying "but it's truly free" is going to make people look right through you in search of the astral plane, IMO.

Just the word 'bae' is annoying.

"Can't wait for bae to get home", "love my bae", "I shat out a #baeburger and my toilet dormitory was painted brown forever more", etc.
