R-Type Dimensiones on the PS3
R-Type Dimensiones on the PS3
I played this game with my XBOX 360, but I didn't buy it because I noticed that the movement of the ship wasn't totally silk smooth. It's like playing the 55hz game with MAME on a 60hz monitor with vsync, with little hiccups every half a second or so. I'd like to buy the game for my new PS3, but I can't test is since there's no demo. Could anyone who has this game tell me if it's fixed and runs perfectly?
Re: R-Type Dimensiones on the PS3
After some search, I've found that the stuttering issues are also present in the PS3 version, unless they have been fixed lately...

Re: R-Type Dimensiones on the PS3
The PS3 version has configurable controls and a new arrange soundtrack, but maintains all the performance issues and arcade inaccuracies from XBLA.

Oh, joy...
I was thinking of picking it up too.
How bad is it? Is it merely imperfect, or is it down-right unplayable?

Re: R-Type Dimensiones on the PS3
Imperfect is closer to the truth. I've only played the 360 version, and the only thing that really popped out to me in the first game was that the Stage 3 boss' turrets shoot a bit less often when compared to the R-Types PS1 port.
The second game, however, has more glaring differences with whole enemies missing. The devs must've used an easier version of the game or one with difficulty set to the lowest as the base from which they recreated the game.

No matter how good a game is, somebody will always hate it. No matter how bad a game is, somebody will always love it.
